truck has been the recent money pit :smack:

New stuff:
3rd gen 4runner rear housing,60"WMS with 1.5 spacers to match front dana 44 at 63.5"WMS,same 4cly 5.29 lockright diff.
TG Diff armor
Ruffstuff diff cover for the front 44
Ruffstuff delrin spacer for the drag link, no more wandering steering link
New output seal, old one was worn out and leaking
balanced rear driveline
37" og mtrs ive been hoarding
Got a sweet co2 regulator and hose for the 10lb. tank so i now can use that for OBA
4xinnovations cage
Installed ARB compressor instead of using CO2 to power the front locker
Ditched the 60/40 bench for some nice 2nd gen runner buckets
Put back seats and rest of interior back in it
Got tired of the lame headlights, got HID kit with some nice Autopal housings
Cleaned up the rock lights/auxiliary lights wiring with new relays and switches
Added a bed tool box
50. cal ammo can console
HD tcase mounts
Wired up a amp and made a sub box out of the big storage compartment under back seat, fits a 10 and slaps hard
Resealed Oil pan and did a full tune up on motor, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv, o2 sensors, new fluids in everything.

truck runs good, besides the CEL code 25 ive been having i have no complaints, but a RZ motor swap is in the works here, just trying to gather all the parts i need.

Welcome to the club  :beerchug: Whats the history on the motor?

should have that thing dropped in in the next few weeks.

motor has a little less than 200k on it, came out of a 2000 tacoma. not ideal mileage but still gonna rip hard.

91 toyota 3rz swap
« Reply #412 on: Sep 07, 2015, 11:55:04 PM »
well i decided yesterday was the day that the 22re needed to come out, waited long enough, mostly on the swap harness but cant complain since its making the whole wiring part of this swap a cake walk.

Old 22re coming out, it lived a hard life and served its purpose but it was tired and was puking oil out from everywhere

swapped 91 22re oil pressure sender onto 3rz, direct fit, just need to splice the connector for this onto the 3rz harness

w59 bell housing on, i retained the w56 fork while using the  w59 throwout bearing and slave, hope this setup works since ive heard other have had goodluck with it.

kinda ghetto fabbed up the fuel supply,  bent it over the bell housing and retained the factory 22re supply line as it uses the same style banjo bolt as the 3rz.

the clutch softline is the factory 22re line.

untouched 1991 AC still blows ice cold and i hope to keep it that way, did not touch this setup as it is the same pump the RZ motors use and will bolt right up to the 3rz bracket, will have to swap the pulley for the 4 ribbed style and i hope itll work without much more modification but i know forsure my tach has to work to make the pump activate.

exhaust crossover tube i had laying around fits perfect after i took a sledge hammer to it to clearance for the w56. i will make a heatshield for the brake lines but i want to get it running 1st. also plan to run header wrap on this section as i dont want to cook my trans fluid.

heres a pic of the brake line section i bent by hand to use as the clutch hardline, just a straight section from the auto parts.

and heres where i ended the night, also i drilled out the holes for the 22re fan clutch since i plan on running that with the stock shroud and a new 3.0 3row aluminum rad. should keep it nice and cool. BTW i used the chilkat mounts and my motor sits perfect, whatever the problem  was with others needed to modify them they apparently fixed, i highly recommend them , was a pain in the ass trying to get the tranny shaft to line up in the pilot but after a few hours of dicking around it went right in.

i just need to move the battery and fit the new tray and start on the wiring i need to do,then mess with the fuel return line and see if itll crank over then worry about tieing up all the loose ends like the evap and exhaust.

I can verify that this will work. Looks great buddy. Hats off to you for starting a swap 10 days before the roundup!  :yikes: Might be easier to have an exhaust guy make your crossover at your bell instead of that far back into the body of your transmission. This will give it more clearance for your front shaft as well as you won't have to worry about it cooking the fluid. I had mine done for $80  :dunno:

it lives!

idles perfect and no CEL so far but im pretty sure one will come on in time since the o2's arnt hooked up niether is the evap

current state, was a PITA moving all my accessory wires over to the driver side, got the bus connected and all my relays too

2wd t100 lower rad hose fit like a glove after i trimmed one side a few inches.
added some protection  for it as it does come close to the frame and alternator but does not touch.

stock un-modified 3rz taco upper hose fits great even with the big radiator im using.

will get a video up soon of it running
