Thanks dude! I always try to post progress pics. Someday I'd like to take the different areas and break them down into tech with step by step and pics. We will see.

Originally i wasnt going to do disc brakes right away, bub since it was this far why not. I believe it's a dual diafram yes. If not I will find out real quick. These new lights are sweet, just need to place and splice.

So my jack stands and blocks of wood holding the entire truck up were starting to get a little sketch to I got the front shackles in and axle bolt up under it. I had to run both spacers on one side of my offset shackles though, I think the frame tubes are not correct. Anyway this will work for the trail.

kdub0013

Framed out the rear gas tank area with some 1x and a piece of angle. Flapped all my joints too. I am going to make a separate skid out of 1.5" Dom once the tank is set at the correct angle. I will skin that with some 1/8" since i have a full sheet of that and maybe throw some dimple die goodies in it. Should work out nice with the tank back there.

 that ring gear is huge.

kdub0013

Here's the lights, good quality and bright as hell.

Axle is about done and I should be able to pick it up tomorrow or Friday. New 6.17 gears, toyota driveline flange, disc brakes and wheel studs. Can't wait to bolt this fawked in :smokin:

TheChewMaster

Nice, looks beefy. Those spring perches from davez? Look nice and long. Dang, that ring gear sure explains why the 60/70 combo is so strong.  I've been checking out lights similar to that on eBay, looks nice and bright and even a little heat sink action to keep em cool.

Shamb

looks like sh*t, you can drop off all this crap at my house. i'll scrap it for you    :rofl2:

so can i wheel with you one of these days since my sh*ts never going to see sunlight?

They were just sitting there. I have some ruff stuff perches at home which are identical so I assume that's what Dave has. Can't wait to run this setup, it will be damn near bombproof :D

Coming along nice
Thank you!

Since I can't multi quote on tapatalk I had to respond to each individual post :shaking: so no I'm not post padding.

kdub0013

Got my axle back today, it's going in Sunday.

Crawlin1984

kdub0013

Thanks dude it will be ready for the summer.

kdub0013

Got the 70 unloaded and rolled under the truck. Disc brakes are sexy.

kdub0013

Got the 70 bolted in, pinion angle set and perches tacked. I will have to shorten my driveline, but I am thinking I will push my rear back further maybe and get a longer wheelbase.

Also while I was taking my driveline back out and having a beer I was staring at this area wondering the best route to tie the cage into the frame? Do I eliminate the bed and factory mount sections? That's what I was thinking, where's my paint pros at show me those ideas :D

kdub0013

Had a half hour. Gusseted the top of the frame at the front and got an idea of how I'm mounting the orbital valve.

yotacrawler1

Dam dude looks good. love the stance, and that front spring hanger is beef.

kdub0013

Thanks dude! Yeah I went a little over kill on the front but I had some gussets lying around anyway. Can't wait to wheel it. I am shooting for a snow trip with my club buddies the end of February, fingers crossed.

TheChewMaster

Love the front end, should never be an issue.

So whats with that tube under the rear of the steering box mount? Future tie in for the exo, or just cut it off and it works as a great spacer, or a shock hoop or something. Whatever it is, all that wonderful hydro will be sweet!!!!

tube was just there for the mount to sit on. I will cut it down weld it to the mount and notch it so I can weld flat on the frame. Full hydro will be nice for sure.

kdub0013

Ordered some blingin silicone radiator hoses today from LCE Engineering :smokin:

Also got this radiator from a buddy, looks fairly new and the inside looked clean from what I could tell through the cap.

kdub0013

Radiator and efan utilizing stock shroud. The zip ties are temporary. Working on a bunch of rewire and other crap the doesn't rate pictures.

kdub0013

It's a tight fit but I am going to trim the top of the shroud and angle it down slightly towards the bottom edge and that will be enough to clear. I want to keep the fan pulling air into the engine bay even though it will be mostly open on the sides so it probably wouldn't matter.

TheChewMaster

Damn that's really close! Shouldn't be a problem though. Hey, some of us have to use zip ties to make stuff work. The dude who owned my truck before me tried to make it "light" and ripped out all the interior dash and parts, I had to ghetto rig my radio on there with zip ties, and my speakers too which are in the pillar at the seat

I don't mind the zip ties necessarily its just they snap over time especially in a high heat area like that. I suppose if I change them out once a season I should be good.

kdub0013

Tight fit for everything.

Trimmed the shroud down a bit, it's hack but I am going to clean it up with the mounting bracket I fab up so the zip ties go away. The clearance is better now though.

Got the loose wire cleaned up and zip tied to the fan guard.
