Got the rear shocks mounted and added the extra support tube. Started skinning the rear seat area and made mounts. I also added the additional tubes from the door bar area back down to the bottom of the c pillar. Also added a vertical tube in the b pillar in the center of the x just because.

Going back out tonight after my daughter is asleep to weld more. I cut a 1/4" plate gusset also for the ram mount and axle tube up front.

Well drove it up and down he neighborhood today. Driving on concrete still sucks, but was improved yen I aired the tires up :laughing: did a bunch of random crap electrically and started fitting the stock dash back in around the tubez. Pics to follow. Also got the rear seat mounted, just need to fill a few holes on the floor. Overall I am pleased. Here are some poser shots.

Well stayed up trying to knock a bunch of stuff out. Got shocks mounted and attempted relays. Whatever mother f-ing reason I can't get the led lights to switch on and off and I followed the directions to the t. Also I attempted and failed at wiring up my fan. Any input would help. I am going to go back to searching because I apparently don't have this 12v crap figured out like I thought.

Thanks I will feel better when the wiring is done. I still have a few other odds and ends I need to get to but figured wiring would be the most challenging so I had better get on it.

 That diagram you have is confusing. I used this diagram to wire up my extra back up light. I think this diagram helped me because it has colors and is easy to follow the trail.. my brain is that of a 5 year old when it comes to electrical

Yeah I suck at this wiring crap and can do stereos and lights but have always done fusible switches and not relays. Just want to keep the fire hazard down since I will be hauling my daughter in this thing.

just plan on switching it on and leaving it running unless I cross fordyce when the water is deep. So same setup I'd assume.

Made some more progress and got my fan, led lights and beats all working

So it has been brought to my attention via pm that my A pillar is not good enough. I planned on door bars and tubez but it will have to wait for a few weeks. Here was kind of what I have had in mind and tel me if it's overkill. Figured I could plate with some dimple die holes at the door jamb tube to the rock slider.

So it's weird because I had a good gallon of gas left in the tank and yet somehow the pump wasn't picking it up and that's why it wouldn't run :homer: my first thought was to add fuel yesterday but I didn't have any and didn't think I needed it since there was a bunch sloshing around. Anyway truck runs like a champ. Turned the idle down a smidge and got the new toy driveline flange on. But now of course my driveline angle is fawked and I need to either

A get the good cv that has more clearance or

B run shims and for the sake of time that I don't have I'm gonna run shims and yeah that will change my castor but I'm not concerned being a trail rig.

Anyway back on track and time to wrap this stuff up. Rubicon is in less than a week as of now.

Here's the the driveline. The female end is hanging from the tcase and you can see the shaft coming up from the pinion will not work.



Also wasn't planning on it but I got my 20 led rock lifts soldered together and just need to mount them.

thats not good. Running a clearanced CV up at the tcase?

I ran into a similar issue with my yota axles, ended up just using a single cardan shaft retubed at DLS sac. Works well vibrates above 35 mph. But not bad for a unbalanced shaft

i just ditched the cv when i did my squaretube went with single on both ends.
and those rock lights are sick!  i wired mine up awhile ago love em.

Only 1 pic but got the roof back on and debating if I should keep it or not because it will require some body work to make it non hack looking. I also took the jeep top canvas and may just use that mounted to the windshield and ran back. Mounted the speaker cans and now my phone will just play music straight through the amp. It's coming together but now I don't have to rush for this weekend. Mother in law was in a nasty accident from falling which resulted in major injures and a couple weeks in the hospital so no rubicon for me this weekend. The wife and I are still shooting for fordyce on memorial.

Painted the cage and started welding the cab top back on and damn near caught my truck on fire :shaking: remember to always remove the foam out of cab before welding.

with the top cut off already I would just leave it off man! Da buggy look is epic brah... seems like a hassle to put it back on! I've been really thinking bout cutting mine but then I would have to redo the cage a bit an I'm not up for redos at this point. Just make a removable aluminium roof like my rear will be!! Also the tub in is looking pretty good! Wat seat r u using??

Yeah at this point I'm thinking the top is staying off and it will be a soft top. The rear seat is an old jeep or land cruiser seat wih belts but doesn't fold and tumble. It will hold my daughters carseat perfectly.

Well with mom in law in the hospital still my wife is in need of a trip. Her mom actually said she wants her to get out and not spend another weekend at the hospital. So Fordyce this weekend don't have time for body work so I skinned the cage with the old jeep top and made it work. Looks alright I think. Maybe next winter ill get the cab top back on.

Still have a few items to take care of though.

To be really honest, the canvas looks a lot better than I thought it would. Gives the rig a nice rugged feel, not that raisin fenders don't do that. But It makes me think more of a buggy than a truck. The only think I'm concerned about is your old B pillar. It probably nothing, but I wouldn't want to look under the rig and accidentally grab that section instead of the bedside, and end up with a gashed palm. She is looking awesome. Saw the pics/vid from the Rubicon trip by Placer county crawlers, very cool too bad ya had to say home. Have fun this weekend!
