You gotta use a CV if you're pointing the pinion at the tcase like that.  But then you're short.  No, I mean your driveshaft....

???  It's been almost ten days since my last progress report so I thought I would get caught up.
Ok I have been doing some wiring and gauge mounting waiting for some parts to come in. I have also been on call again last weekend and this week. :rivers:  My exhaust stack and fuel pump came in today and I am hoping the parts from Marlin get here too. I plan to take off Friday morning to pick up the metal for the cage and frame. Yes boys and girls I said frame.  The frame on this is not up to the task and I figured why wait to do it after all the finish welding is done so I can spend more time cutting all the brackets off again.  :tantrum: I plan to use 2"x 4" 11 gauge square tube for the center frame and step down to 2"x3" square tube for the ends. I will need to make up a jig to bend the 2x3 to match the original. This will give me a semi stock looking frame that should be strong enough to take the punishment, plus I can use it to hold compressed air. I will post pictures later when there is somthing to show, but for now it all looks the same. :beerchug:

:rivers: Well, it's not even Saturday yet and I broke my tubing bender   Did I do somthing wrong  :dunno:  but the dam thing just broke. Now the first thing I did was call Pro Tools and left them a nice message. Then I thought my whole weekend plans just went out the window rite? Wrong! :nope: Not this kid. I ground down their shotty weld, beveled the pieces, made up a gusset and TIG welded it back together. Now I dare it to break :nana:  :moon:  I am going to send them a bill for the repairs and they had better pay it or they will have a hard time selling any more benders to this crowd. They also need to start gusseting their dies. After the repair I tested it and  it works, but man is this 2" .120 wall DOM tough to bend. Well I hope I have better luck tomorrow :crossed:

Update on the broken die. They called me back and were very nice over the phone. They appoligized for the inconvience and said they would make it up to me. They offered me a credit toward my next purchase, but I said I did not know if I would need anything else for a while. They were going to send me a check for the repair and I mentioned to them that I would like to try their bending software so they sent me a free copy. Overall I feel good about their customer service and would recommend them because of that alone. I do hope they will gusset the large dies from this day forward just to give that extra asurance there are no more breakages.

On a lighter note most of the wiring is done and most of the gauges are done. I have the exhaust stack clamped in place to see if I like where it is. I hope to have the roll cage done this weekend and get started on the frame this next week.

 Weekend Update: Well as you herd we finished the bending, made flanges and welded the back section together. I was shorted some tubing so I will have to get more before I can finish the front. Also bent up nerf bars with the scrap. We rough cut the pieces for the frame so I can start fabing the frame rails this week. Well that's it for a 14 hour day.  Time for some
