Nothing is ever easy, I got the C clip groove cut into the tailshaft, but never checked the clip to the bearing. The bearing slides right over the clip.  :headscratch:

Now this is where the censors kick in to protect the little ears from what came out of my mouth next. :censored:

Anybody wanna guess how many hours it's going to take me grinding on the leaf spring to make me a C clip?

He could if it wasn't some odd size he needed. He needs it to be the same interior dimension, but wider. (taller?) It'll take more time researching it to find one that will work then it will to make one.
It seems he'll be able to use the hole saw to get it close, so it shouldn't be as bad as he was thinking.
He's setting up the mill as we type. Guess I better get the camera again.

OK... the hole saw didn't work, the spring is too tough. He's going to cut it as close as possible with the band saw, put a bolt through the middle and use the lathe.
More pics in a bit. :shake:

Thanks for the confidence, I was like  :tantrum: :headscratch: :dunno: :maddest: when I found out the bearing slid right over the clip. I had all kinds of ideas going through my head and all of them were out there. Making the new clip seemed like the only way.

So now the R151F 4 speed is all back together less the case. I still need to weld up the tailshaft housing to get everything back together.

Enough talk time for more progress, time is a wasting.
