I'll be on the road all day tomorrow delivering that welded 4.88 to Dezrik in f'n Meeker, Middle of Nowhere, Colorado :ha_ha:  but it'll be cheaper and faster than shipping so... why not? Plus I haven't been to that part of Colorado yet.

I'll amass the milk crates to assist us with the sliders.

I drilled a small hole all the way through.  Then I used a step bit like this to get the sleeves to fit through the frame.

On the way down to weld on the sliders today... Matt calls and says he says a flat and needs a hi-lift.... There are flates and then there is something like this.

:yikes:

Pretty sure he has some of the worst luck, evar.

All better now.

After this, we went for this.  :beerchug: And now to the shop for sliders!

I can not count how many times i have seen an MTR do that. Most the time the tires were getting pretty old. What is the year stamp on the tire?

I told him that he was lucky that he did it today and not tomorrow with the oncoming snow. ;-p Also I bet he was glad he took the lift, springs, etc off of it. That seriously should have been a roll.

I think the DOT stamp was from 02 or 07; a bunch of bolts for the beadlock were sheared of too.

Here's my theory:
Loose and missing bolts let out air
Tire gets low slowly
More bolts disappear
Tire goes flat @ 70
Weight of vehicle cuts tire as shown
Matt is a sad panda

The left front tire had 5 missing bolts as well so he took some from the blow-out and fixed that problem. They are all grade 8 bolts too...  :yikes:
Luckily the sliders went on without any major issues. He's on his way home now; hope he makes it through the current snowstorm in one piece too.

After all that mess we got his sliders welded on so it wasn't a totally wasted day:

Matt grinding something too short (ha ha):

Pass side tacked on:

Door clearance:

Why aren't they shipped like this??

Just kidding; I'm not that dumb. Close... but not.
We got both sides on just before the snow started so all that's left is undercoating/painting. The initial plan was to get both his and mine installed but due to a blown tire... maybe we'll do mine next time.
