Locktup's NEW 4Runner

OK I'm starting another project. Its an October of 1984 4Runner. I bought it a couple of weeks ago from Dave at Davez Off Road Performance
This isn't going to be an extreme build like my others. I want this to drive every day and to take out on the trails. This will stay leaf sprung with a maximum of 36" tires but for starters it will have 33's. It will be lockt front and rear with a HP 5.29 front & V6 5.29 rear, dual t-cases with 4.7 gears,

This is how it looked when I went up and bought it.









Dave still has it at his shop working his magic.
The list of mods Dave is doing are:
A hot rod motor, I'm not sure whats he doing but I hope it involves a turbo!!
Bigger Radiator
New Exhaust System
IFS Rear Axle
Rear Disc Brake Kit
2nd Gen 4Runner Interior
Getting the A/C working
A Better Dash Board
A few other things I cant disclose "yet".
Im sure Im missing a few items and I hope Dave will jump in and pick up my slack.

Not sure yet. I just pickt it up because it was a good buy. Im kicking myself for not pukk the matching rear at the same time. I didnt think I would want it but now I do.

Dave found some 1/2 way good seats and a good brown dash pad too.




This from Dave. "The engine needs some freshening up. We are upgrading to a dual row timing chain, a bigger cam and some tweeking of my own to see if we can create some HP on the cheap. You can see where the old timing chain was slapping around and the typical broken guides in the oil pan."

This is from Dave. "The only part needed to swap in the dual row chain in an 84 and earlier 22r is the oil pump drive gear from a dual row set up."

I have no idea what Dave is doing to the engine. I told him to go as crazy as he could and keep it smog able.

ha ha  yeah he will need an oil pump gear from a 20r with dual chains.  thats what i have on my hybrid 20/22r
