I think your on the right track for the extra stud fur sur.

Also, i feel like "grade 8" dosen't transfer over to metric. I think they are on different scales essentially making a metric 10.2 the same rating as a std 8. Don't hold me to that. and as far as Taiwanese metal, whatever, they are newer stronger and easily available as a kit( lets not start that crap)

And to reply to ur mail, im definitly a fan of the bolt idea. now ur going to have to strip a bolt or break a head. I think much better friend.

O, and i always have my ipod charger in the truck if you need it in the woods. Hopeing for some day to talk myself into another one so i can loose it too.

When you do the studs if im not there, take a note for me on the clearance of the stud to anything that moves. id be interested in doing this a little later but i would probably run down to wink's, i love wink's. I wonder if a full headed bolt would fit in there.

Anybody got a set of rear ifs springs? I'm gonna swap out the main TG leafs up front with stock rears hopefully drop it down another inch or two. Then cut my my fenders and wrap my beast with mossy rock.
When I was wheelin last weekend my rear tires got chewed up prettygood by my fenders. Kinda lucky they didn't get pop'd causethey got some pretty good gouges in them.

And ya EARLY I will measure for clearance of the diff studs to moving parts.

Very nice!
Thanks man! the install was simple. And i chased all the holes with a tap before i put the new studs in. Really helped clean up the threads and make it all feel good.

did a lil research today check it out.
I think everything i looked at. Has told me that the strength ratings are the same. (the grade that was marked on the Trail-Gear diff studs is 10.9)

Metric Fastener strength chart- http://euler9.tripod.com/bolt-database/22.html    Scroll down

Standard fastener strength chart - http://www.americanfastener.com/technical/grade_markings_steel.asp    Scroll down

CONVERSION Calc. for MPa(metric) to Psi(standard) - http://www.chapelsteel.com/mpa-psi.html

American Grade 10.9 Minimum tensile strength                                   150,000 Psi
Metric Grade 10.9 Min. tensile strength 1040 MPa converts to               150,839.208 Psi

Got the old Trailer Home pretty much completely scrapped! So far structuraly it looks pretty good just some surface rust but nothin a flap disc wont take care of.  :gap: Gotta get some new tires for it. So i can move it from my parents house to my house. Im probly gonna cut out most of the  angle iron cross sections and replace with some small tube steel. And cover the deck with expanded sheet metal. I havent quite looked into yet cause I have a bunch of other projects. But im sure its gonna be sweet when im all done.

Here is my :pokinit: paint skills at work. But this is the idea Im dreaming of. The front end would be part of a scrapped enclosed trailer, hopefully with swinging doors in the back also. Or just a camper for a truck. I think you get the idea.
The trailer deck is I think 25 feet long, I only measured with my arms stretched finger tip to finger tip a few times. And my truck is about 14'6" so i will have some room to play with  :gap:
If this is the idea i go with I will move the axles on the trailer to best distribute the load.

Na I still need to do shocks and links and limit straps in the rear. I just don't have the money for it right now. Still payin off the front end too. I'm hopin to get the ass end done before summer is over.
I'm gonna re-do the rear links in stock location only with rod ends at the axle and rubber bushings on the chassis. Make them outta some nice DOM. And I'm planning on bendin some shock hoops with my new JD3 bender. The hoops will go on the outside of the frame rail and they will hold some 2.0 King shocks with remote resi's. I got it all planned out I just gotta start buying :pokinit: and do it. But like I said I got other projects goin on suckin up my extra funds and time.
