Hey there I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a college student just gettin by. I dont have a rig yet but, I am excited to get started on one. I guess my interest in one stems for going offroading in a 884runner that was SAS and dual cased. I was amazed at what they could do. My first time out in the rig was the last. We flipped it 5 times on the highway coming home out in the desert. We were very lucky, people were ejected when the shell broke off, ect. We all suffered relatively minor injures(broken arms, ribs, ect.) So now its one of those, get back up and get back offroad in a crawler type things.

Right now I am torn between building a 3rd gen pickup and a 2nd gen runner. I have been lurking for a little while and know basically what I want to do. Being in college it is going to be slow going. I want to stick IFS for a while and wheel the piss out of it while I gather money and parts. Then do an SAS and duals plus armor, and add from there. Lookin to run 35's cause it is going to be my DD as well. I cant see my project starting for another 2 years or so because I am leaving to serve a mission for my church for two years. Thats right I am LDS.
just makes ya want to run sas something dont it :shake:

I am new and have no clue what the hell im doing. javascript:void(0);been wheelin since i could drive, have 93 octane in my blood, and a severe need for all things dirty. Im currently in the works of building, well, collecting parts for my 91 single cab SAS. Its all stocky, and its horrible. I just bought it bout 4 months ago for $1,000. Clean frame, motor runs strong. Good deal. Im gunna need all the help I can get while I do this swap, as this would be my first serious build. I had a 96 Tacoma, sadly there was a frame recall, and my girl of 4 years was taken from me. I had about $5,000 into her and that was it, over. So now i got this cheezy stock, torsion bars clankin all over the place, bed rotting out, hole in the floor truck that need ALOT of TLC. So Ill see yous guys on the trail. PEACE!
Oh yea, i fergot to say, I've been a mig welder for 10 years, and I currently work bending pipes at a western MA exhaust shop, and have been for 6 years. Hit me up if ya can get me out of here!! I wanna build Rigs that DESTROY. -Fin

josh hennen

Hello, My name is Josh and I have a 1987 Toyota Van (yes Van) I have swapped in a 3RZ and converted it from an automatic to a G53 5 speed. It has the stock drivers side output chain driven transfer case, not sure of the ratio. I have a custom suspension (one of a kind!) under it and have 33" by 12.5" M/Ts. The rear end is a 7.5" that I put 5.29s in and the front diff. is a 7.5" high pinion out of a '97 4runner also with 5.29s (of course!).

I have come to this forum for some help regarding my 3RZ swap. I have had no issues with it other than it keeps throwing a lean code and I am not sure why but I will get to that later after I do some more reading on here to see if my issue has all ready been addressed.

Here is a link to my thread on pirate4x4:http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=838606&highlight=death+metal
