hey everyone, i'm new on the site. i just got an '89 yota truck and its up in sac at my uncles shop. i'm gonna paint it, lift it a bit more, put seats, a roll cage, and new tires, maybe fix up the engine a little. i also like to ride dirtbikes, i ride a honda CRF150, stiff suspension and i'm only 5feet tall! ha, so maybe my bike is a little too tall, but who cares! i also like to wakeboard and race sailboats in SC.

Hey there I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a college student just gettin by. I dont have a rig yet but, I am excited to get started on one. I guess my interest in one stems for going offroading in a 884runner that was SAS and dual cased. I was amazed at what they could do. My first time out in the rig was the last. We flipped it 5 times on the highway coming home out in the desert. We were very lucky, people were ejected when the shell broke off, ect. We all suffered relatively minor injures(broken arms, ribs, ect.) So now its one of those, get back up and get back offroad in a crawler type things.

Right now I am torn between building a 3rd gen pickup and a 2nd gen runner. I have been lurking for a little while and know basically what I want to do. Being in college it is going to be slow going. I want to stick IFS for a while and wheel the piss out of it while I gather money and parts. Then do an SAS and duals plus armor, and add from there. Lookin to run 35's cause it is going to be my DD as well. I cant see my project starting for another 2 years or so because I am leaving to serve a mission for my church for two years. Thats right I am LDS.

Another newbie here. I'm building my 89 truck to be more rock worthy and I look forward to learning all I can

Michael Avant

My name is SGT. Michael W. Avant. I have a 1974 Jeep CJ-5. It has the model 20 transfer case. When I shift it into 4 high the front and rear drives shafts lock in like they are supposed to. When I shift it into 4 low the rear drive shaft locks in but the front one doesn't.
I have never heard any whining or grinding noises in the transfer case. I did however take the shifting rod off of the transfer case one time to paint the inside of the jeep.
I just can't figure out what is wrong with my jeep. If anyone out there knows please help me. I would really appreciate it.
I just put brand new Warn locking hubs in. But I know that that isn't the problem. Please help. Michael Avant

jss

Well as you can tell 1st post and oh boy another newbie, moved to Colorado from south central Texas, pretty much stopped rodeoing and beings I live just 97 miles from Moab guess I better stop rodeoing and start wheelin.  Startin on a build up I guess; 94 Toy with 22RE rebuild, 5 speed, and completely stock.  So guess I'll be droppin bout 5 grand to the Marlin boys to get started.  Laters!!
Hold my beer and watch this....
