Sounds like $700 vs. $1400, i think i would rather invest that into duals and 4.7s

SloCrawler

Besides who want to look the same as all the others.

k5kickin

seeing this thread made me wish i had my 4runner still... with all the extra people it can carry and i could put a car seat in it when needed.

Decided to start car pooling to work again. Think im going to throw my street legal 76 body and engine on this 81 frame... would be nice to not have to trailor for local trails and the dunes.  I think it will get alot more use this way.

SloCrawler

Starting next week im going to start dismanteling this truck and getting it ready for a Cab and Motor swap. The only thing im uncertain about is how hard it will be to add my power steering and hydro to a none power steering truck. For now I plan on running the 20r and maybe throwing my head with the 22r valves on it. Im thinking after I get the cab on possible trying to dove front and rear and adding a rear seat for my daughter. Edwin got any detailed picks on your walk through cab??

jrock

if your doing this to be street legal, your not going to be able to dove anything.

Hey, inboarded springs rock!

Pulling the trailor over to my house today from storage. going to start soon on dismanteling my 81 and getting it ready for the 76 cab and 20r motor i have. Seems like I should be able to bolt on all my power steering directly over from the 22r. Wish I had more $$ i would do flatbelly and duals now, but for the time being I just want to get this back on the road. Keeps your eyes out for a bench seat and dual setup for me.

SloCrawler

Ended up selling the 1976 toyota, Im looking for a 1975 or older body and pink, either toyota or jeep to put on my current frame. If I cant find anything soon i might just continue with the buggy Idea. #1 goal is a 4 seater, #2 is street legal. Then again im just ready to start wheeling again..

Peterbuilt84

Just wheel. Get some motivation going! Only crappy thing around here is there is hardly any place for a crawler to go.

SloCrawler

Trying to buy back my rig in the next few days. Got a stout lined up with no windshield. If I can't get a windshield I was thinking of cutting off roof and modding a land cruiser windshield. Anyone seen this before

If you can't convince them, confuse them.

I have a lot of stout parts I won't need. Got a 3r engine for sale and all drivetrain and frame. If anyone has a lead on a stout windshield let me know.

SloCrawler

I'm so stoked. Just got back SloCrawler my original build. And also found a way to make more bad ass with a Stout body. :willynilly:

So 20/22r experts?? The 22r was rebuilt and they put on that 20r head I bought off ebay. It's all put together with 22r carb. Only issue is he stopped when the coolant line hits the fuel pump. Do I modify coolant line or bypass mechanical fuel pump and put electric in gas tank??
