:crossed: Keeping my fingers crossed ..might be getting my hands on a 71chevy with a d60 and 14a bolt. If my flaky nabor comes through that is. He just wants the body the rest is mine. If this happens i think im going to part out my rig and build the 76the hilux ....

SloCrawler

so the nabor flaked on the chevy, but we did go look at this 87 4runner, hes buying it just for the rims and im getting the rest for $250. It has a good 22re in it. only bad is back fees and the rear driver quarter panel is smashed in. Im thinkin im going to transfer suspension over and call it good, so ill have an Ifs rear for sell and lots of extra going up soon.

SloCrawler

ended up helping the owner of the 4runner with a rear end on another vehicle, the result, getting 4runner for free.

So if im to do a 22re swap on my rig what exactly do I need to keep from 4runner, engine, wire harness and ECU with hookups between? !st time doing motor swap. Appreciate the advise.

you should swap the 4runner body onto your truck as well if your not going to keep it street legal than you dont need the smog stuff

superyota

You can probably get away with calling it a custom buggy and get it green stickers if you cut it up enough

I want to, pretty soon here my wify will bring home some of that extra cash from her new job and ill be able to afford to work on it, I really want a 4runner, but now im thinking im just going to fix motor for now, and when i have time im goin to swap the flatbed for regular bed and throw a bench in and cut the roof off and call it a 4runner...  Jon you got a 1st gen bed for me?

Gixxer Jon

Had.. Gave it away to the first person that came and got it o
It of my garage after swapping the bed and bobbing it. There's tons of first gen beds in bako junk yards.

superyota

SloCrawler

can you post pic? Diffently considering that option if i come across a bed, seems to be very useful haveing a bed to load up.

SloCrawler

Im leaning towards this. The more I  think  about it im throwing out the idea of a body and streat legality.  It would be nice but allready got my trailer and tow rig. Mights as well go all out and do a buggy, something like this but room for a bench in back.. I priced 1.75 dom 120 wall with my company discount is $88 for a 21' stick. Im gonna price 1.5' because thats the die everyone has. How nany sticks you guys think for a simple disighn like this?

CCM Runner

I like it. To give you an idea I have almost 5 sticks in my exo. Your prob looking at about 8 sticks min

get a bigger hammer!!!!!!!!

CCM Runner

I say 8 because yours will be a little bigger for the bench
