Awesome rig... should be on the cover of a magazine!! (maybe the centerfold too! )
If I cannot use the massive Volvo IC, I will likely use a stock Supra IC and side mount it where battery used to sit on this truck.
IronClad: If I wanted to hold hands and be nice I'd become a hippie.
An idea for you: I saw an 85 diesel X-cab at the yard last week (in the parking lot, not scrap) that had a built bumper like yours... and the IC was mounted in the front left corner behind some expanded steel. Of course I didn't get any pics... but it seemed like a really slick way of mounting an IC. I'm filing that idea away if I ever get a turbo on the Runner I don't have yet; I'm still kind of amazed the turbo engines didn't have an IC! Figured it went hand-in-hand; with turbo comes IC. What do I know anyway? >>Dan
So Dan.Dan the man.Are you linking it? (Before you answer, I have freinds in the HA)(And they are big and hairy)(And they like to fight)I need someone (like yourself) to Prototype a suspension system for me.
Well that is an excellent idea, but I see two problems right off: It will get almost no cold air flow inside there and second it would be subject to whatever my tires decide to throw up at it. Another issue would be finding an intercooler to fit in that hole, as it is rather odd shaped....and very small.
HA? hells angels?
Both your 4Runners have always been my Favorites.... Damn you do some inspirational work dude.
IF you wake up and MAGICALLY are missing your 4Runner... .Don't Call me
im still on the fence about megasquirt. i had it in my last rally car, it was ok i guess. i have found a guy in so cal that can make a plug and play harness, that will allow me to use the ecu i have for the lexus, and retain all my guages, fuse block, ect. this is a option i will probably take, as i will daily drive this truck (or want to be able to at least) and the cost is a fraction of a standalone system
yeha that is tight dan. so how close to it being done and trail ready??
not close at all, i dont have a trans or cases, or flywheel and clutch...
