Awesome rig... should be on the cover of a magazine!! (maybe the centerfold too!  :bowdown: )
the I/C is off a volvo wagon, very common in wrecking yards.

im not sure about fans yet. i will have to wait until the radiator is mounted to see w hat kind of room i have

while the intercooler, and power steering cooler are mounted, and look good- they may not be permanent. priority lies in the radiator and cooling fans. i know i can get a much more compact oil cooler, and mount it wherever the hell- and i have a much smaller intercooler as well. when the motor and radiator are in, we will find out.  ive used saab IC before, they worked very well until i wanted to push more then 12psi.

that being said- this motor is being built to peak at 7-9 and maintain that boost through its rpm range- teh saab IC was designed for a very small motor, and i think that the 2jz will flow enough CFM to turn it into in inter-heater, as i will probably flow way more then what it can efficiantly cool.

if i cannot use the massive volvo IC, i will likely use a stock supra IC and side mount it- it the location that the batery used to sit on this truck :D

well that is an excellant idea, but i see two problems right off, it will get almost no cold air flow inside there, and second- it would be subject to whatever my tires decide to throw up at it. another issue would be finding an intercooler to fit in that hole, as it is rather odd shaped....and very small

The guy had some expanded steel in front to allow airflow and an angled cover to deflect tire debris on the back; may have had a fan too? It looked about the same size as the MkIV Supra's IC (I think) or about 8" tall by 12" wide, give or take. Kind of like a DSM IC for the Talons and Eclipses or even the Audi/VW; side-mounted in the wheel well.

Ah heck, you'll think of something great in no time.  :beerchug:

well, dropped the motor in today, its sitting on its own weight!! rolled teh truck out to clean the shop :D

there is anly about 1/4 inch of room between the radiator and the water pump, so thats a no- go. i will have to get a different radiator....hmmm


i will probably have to relocate power steering cooler and IC as well, dunno yet


 there is GREAT clearance at the sides, for the header/turbo. I have WAAAAAY more room in there now as compared to the v6

i made a intake....the mass air meter will live somewhere in the charge pipes

 i also got started on making a down pipe, on that note, plasma cutters and templates kick ass!!

i just layed out about 90% of the intercooler pipes. i need to make a mass air adapter tommarow, and finish em up. im trying to do as many- cheap/free things as i can....since im not working right now- get all the little stuff outa the way for when i get parts.





put the fuse block back in, and mounted the 2jz coil pack on the fender well....its getting crowded in there :D

im still on the fence about megasquirt. i had it in my last rally car, it was ok i guess. i have found a guy in so cal that can make a plug and play harness, that will allow me to use the ecu i have for the lexus, and retain all my guages, fuse block, ect. this is a option i will probably take, as i will daily drive this truck (or want to be able to at least) and the cost is a fraction of a standalone system
this was my rally car i ran megasquirt on...i miss it...i may do it again....ask me in two months :D

well, today i got the intercooler pipes run, the blow off valve welded in and set, as well as made a new intake, that houses the mass air flow sensor....its pretty tight in there now... it will all have to come out when i get a radiator later on
