wow that must be a fairly small turbo.  obviously you want it to be able to boost while you are on the trail.  the turbo on my 7mgte is pretty big.  they never hooked up the tach, so i dont know for sure, but it feels like it starts to boost around 2500-3000
it is small for this motor- it is equivelant to a stock WRX sized turbo for the 2.5 engine, as far as a/r and trim goes.

yes- i wanted it to boost at usable rpm ranges, i dont rev up high on the trail- ever.
i let the gears do the work. i also wanted teh benifits of added horsepower in my daily drive routine, where i rarely see high rpm, and we have ALOT of STEEP hills. in fact the road i live on has several sections at 10% grade

yeah that turbo is quit a bit smaller than mine.  thats good though, i can see how that would deffinately benefit on the trail.  I dont really ever hammer it while i am wheelin either but i figure the horsepower and torque this engine has even before boost, is still almost double what my 22r had! So that will be plenty of horse on the trail with dual ultimate cases

7M-GTE: Output was 232 hp (173 kW) at 5600 rpm and 240 ft·lb (325 N-m) at 4000 rpm for most 5 psi (0.34 bar) versions.
22R-E: 112 hp (84 kW) at 4600 rpm 142 hp (192 N-m) at 3400 rpm

About double LOL

my supra is
190-204 hp (142-152 kW) at 6000 rpm and 185-196 ft·lbf (250-265 Nm) at 4800 rpm

OH torquey! lol

I totally want to see what Dan pulls.

directly from wikipedia= Japanese auto industry maximum of 280 PS (206 kW, 280 hp DIN) at 5600 rpm. In its first appearance, torque was advertised as 44.3 kgm (435 Nm, 320 lbft) to be later recited as 46.4 kgm (455 Nm, 335 lbft)

it will be some where around there :D

THK Matt

as small as my turbo is- it flows more then both stock ct turbos combined. im esimating 300 horse, 350 ft lbs torque. its goin to flow alot better then a stock with headers, intake, tuning, and exhaust. plus it will have no emmisions.

hey dan do you think next time you go to the junkyard where you found that afm, you could grab the cam position sensor cap and seal off that car?  i took mine off today because i saw a crack in it.  as soon as i took it off it basically fell apart in my hand. the plastic was so brittle its rediculous. So now i need to replace that and the seal before i can even run it and check the timing.  i think it might be hard to find just that cap.

dont worry about it Dan.  its only like 15 bucks for the parts i need from the dealer.  i figured they would want an arm and a leg for that little piece!

The other guy is the rapper "Nas" so i'm guessing they are pulling a double funny   " Nas" "Nos" haha

There's a similar picture of that on some Celica boards... guys are always asking if they can swap a 2JZ in for the 3SGTE. "Oh sure; a rear-drive I-6 will fit RIGHT in a car that was built around a front-drive 4-banger!"  :slap:

There's a 90s Lexus (SC200?) at a local yard with a 2JZ; if you point me to where this part is on the engine I'll check if it's still there. I should be there in the next few days.

that would be an sc300, and caleb needs 7m parts that are not transferable

are the parts he needs, on the head itself?
and are they interchangable with a N/A 7M?

I got a short block 7M :dunno:

well- progress has slowed down- as i have run out of cheap or free things to do.

i did get the wastegate and dump tube on- i can say that if that thing expresses itself in traffic- it will be funny.the dump tube is right next to the passenger front shackle :D

i also managed to get the Lexus power steering pump to talk to the ifs box- i used a hybrid pressure hose using parts of both systems, and the return will flow through the ford ranger tranny cooler.

nothing really worth pics....everything on hold till taxreturn time

yeah the parts are on the head.  the CPS (cam position sensor) is just like a distributor on the 7mgte, except it has no spark plug wires coming from it because this engine uses coil packs.  The part i need is almost like a distrubutor cap.  I already got one from the toyota dealership. pickin it up tomorrow.  thanks for the concern though guys!
