ok,  got the tranny/tcases in yesterday   almost got   by the tranny,
i have a 85 front shaft for the front, i guess a long spline kit would make it perfect,  and im going to use the rear most part of a 2 piece 86 2wd auto shaft and the slip splines from a 86 front shaft  for my rear shaft

also i made some solid spacers for my L43 shifter mechanism, to take the slop out of the side shifter

i used that spacer thingy from the rear of the diving board spring, cut a couple of pieces  around 1/4 inch thick/wide,  and fitted them over a couple of the double washered 10mm /14mmhead bolts and installed them into the shifter hole were the rubber washer things usually go,

anyway,   im thinking of running a stock 22 carb  so my uphill runs dont have to be 1/2 throttle or more

What did you end up using for the bloack? I got confused? Stock 22r block or bored 22r block?

i had the .060 block checked,  it has no cracks  but the head i had was screwed  so i am going to run a ported 22R head  and im thinking just a 22R stock carb  for hill climb dependability

I like my stock carb, it hasn't really failed me.  But i don't know much about aftermarket carbs.  I know i wouldn't spend money on an aftermarket carb, i would just go propane or EFI.

the one i have is a 22r aisin carb  and intake,  from a 86,  im going to use the 22R head  so if later i find a efi   swap  in my future i dont have to change heads

when i was at gilmer   on the hill climbs the weber  couldnt handle it at all i had to keep a foot on the gas all the time or it would die and wouldnt start very easy either

The guy that is helping...er that I'm paying to do my build made me put one on my Weber and he also runs one on his and he's been running it for over 5 years and looooves it even if it is in a FJ40 F motor

Do you have a 22r head? I have one for very cheap that needs a valve job. I have a 38mm mechanical secondary Weber that I can't get to run right also.
