I told you if you get one you will not like it cause there is no room for anything and there is no "bed" space. plus being so heavy. I was told not to get one and i did..... lol

Thats why i have my real name under my marlin name.... :gap:

Word hard, Keep your head in the game and if anyone gets in your way tell them you don't give a damn !

Dingman.

So got my ARP studs sitting in the truck (thanks bob), rancho 9000's sitting in the truck(thanks matt), and diff (Kinda) being setup in the garage (thanks scott).  So yea.. all those are fellow marlin members old parts. :haha:

Anyways welded that diff up last night, i think im going to just try to set it up myself.  It needs to get done and i need to learn how to do so anyways.

Still haven't gotten my damn ecu. I ordered it from Rancho Toyota truck (junkyard in rancho cordova) on tuesday.  They told me i had just missed shipping for that day and it will be sent out wednesday and that i would get it thrusday for sure.  So Thursday comes around no package, so i call them up and they told me it was really busy and they didn't ship it wednesday like i was told it was going to be shipped. (wtf?)   So According to them it got shipped thursday and i SHOULD GET IT ON FRIDAY.  Find it kind of odd that if it was shipped thursday night, the tracking number i got from ups says it left friday night.

Anyways, UPS has it now, so hopefully i get it monday like it says on there.  I don't know.. im pissed. I won't order from them again cause this is bull crap.  Ive had a couple good experiences with them before but this just sucks.

Dingman.

Got my ARP studs put in today.. Hopefully my ecu will get here tomorrow so i can drive this damn thing again

Dingman.

Got my ecu..

NOthing has changed.

Something is fucked somewhere.  Talked with Heath, and i jumped my fuel pump to rule that out.

But it is not getting fuel nor spark.  Gonna trace wires i guess, have been freakin' with it all day. If you have any suggestions please let me know, im getting fed up with this.

P-DiseToy24

Dude mick same thing happend with my toyota..... matt shook the fuse box and it worked...
I tried everything fuses, fuel pump, ingition, coil, wires, spark plugs and nothin worked I would at least start with the fuse box theres a wire thats tweekin out that my bet man...

-Matt-

it could be your fuel pump that went out. your have to run a pressure test on it to find out whether its good or bad, but just becasue you hear or or just cuz is runs doesn't mean it will work fine. ive personally seen problems like yours where it was a bad fuel pump. basically the pump still ran fine but wasn't doing the job. because there wasn't enough pressure from it.

pretty lame having to work out :pokinit: like this on a new engine where if you had everything running like how it was originally designed it would be a simple obd2 diagnostic.

lilbuddy

My buddys 3rz swap did the same thing!

I finally figured it out with that the o2 wires melted
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

glad I could help man

Dingman.

Let me say what i've done today just to see if it helps.

So i had issues with my old ecu, had water in it and a bunch of corrosion on the circuit board. Was running like absolute :pokinit: and when it was running i was wiggleing a bunch of different wires just to make sure nothing was loose.  One of the wires on the ecu got pulled out and it quit running, and since then i haven't been able to get it to start.

I ordered an ECU and got it, plugged it in and nothing changed.

Same symptoms of when i turn the key on to try to start it the CEL would not come on. (normally the check engine light would come on and i could hear the fuel pump running)  So im trying to figure out what is causing this.

I started thinking maybe i fried the fuel pump, so i tested it and it works.

As of right now i am not getting the fuel pump to turn on, nor am i getting spark.  So somewhere there is a problem, obviously.

I am not sure where to even look.  I do not want to go and buy different parts and sensors to see if that fixes my problem.

Trying to search and see what would cause what is going on.

Dingman.

Oh.. Also.

Like stated.. I jumped the fuel pump and it runs..
I also had jumped the wiring to the harness itself.

And with both of these jumped.  The fuel pump is running and the CEL is on before i start it.
I can try to start it and it will just crank and crank, will not start.

Wire rubbed through somewhere.... start at the fuse box my friend and let me know what you find in a week.    haha :booya: :slap:

It has to be a wire that rubbed through somewhere, or a melted wire, or a relay.
I just picked up a volt meter tonight so i will check it tomorrow.

Whats happening in a week?

Dingman.

I wired up the OBD2 connector this evening. And am having some problems with it.

My scanner is not communicating with the ECU and i am not sure why.
There is only 4 wires in use which is correct, pins 4,5,7 and 16 on the OBD2 port.

wire 16 is going to the fusebox to a 10amp fuse, for the turn signals i think, but should have constant power right?
Wire 4 and 5 are ground wires. One is to the COR relay ground, and the other is to some ground that is for the OBD2 connector.

and pin number 7 is going to plug 8A on the ecu.

The scanner is saying "error 1" and the booklet tells me that it means that the scanner is not communicating with the computer.
I am not sure what is going on. the only thing i can think of is the signal wire is supposed to be shielded, and im not sure if it is the correct wire in use.  Could that be the problem?

Dingman.

Spent some time working on my truck this weekend.

Went down to Goose's shop and got my rear shocks mounted (finally).

And we moved his steering box forward. I will have to do mine soon too.

Dingman.

So i straightened my shock bar back and will brace it shortly, or cut it out and redo it with thicker material if it bends at all again.

And i welded my v6 diff up, gotta grind the welds down a little so they can fit in the carrier, but i think this should be plently strong.

Oh and my custom flare holders/mudflaps.
