Its not really A COLOR..

If you look at them closely, you can see all the previous layers of paint that have chipped off..

Im gonna paint them, not sure what color yet.

I personally am a big fan of all black rims/rings but thats just me. Red would still look pretty cool too I think.

have the rings powder soated.
I might get you hooked up at citybody and powder coatings
50 bucks, lots of colors to choose from

That would be sick..
I think im more a fan of the rattle can for this type of job.. Powder coating would be nice, but they are just gonna get scratched up.

Black on black looks good, but i sort of like the two color look..
Like the pictures i have of the rings make them look good but you can see that they need to be painted.

yeah for sure. In my eyes a two color, color shceme is where its at. Just find a contrasting color with the maroon and go with it. I like my blue I used to be hard core into pink but it takes to long witht the primor then white base coat then pink yada yada but yeah they look reall good when theres a couple colors there.

Yea..

I just can't wait to see how these damn things do in the snow...

list of things to do before snowfall.

1...     Install OBA.
2...     Hook heater core back up (possibly replace heater core since it leaks)
3...     Repaint beadlocks  (why not?)
4...     If i can, get 30 splines...

Dingman.

So got my heater fixed , got the iroks on and trimmed the fenders a bit. (well thomas did.. thanks man   :beerchug:) so gonna head out this morning and go mess around hopefully bring some pics back of all the rigs.

Dingman.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO stoked on having a heater again.. we were out until 12 last night and it was COLD!!!!!!!!
Spent like 4 or 5 hours getting a buddy unstuck who burried his truck in mud.... Couldn't see the tops of his 40" iroks.  (sorry no pics of that, my camera sucks at night shots)

Heres a few other shots from yesterday.  (thomas showing off his new beadlock screws!  )

Just trimmed enough fenders for the tires not to hit on mine..
Im stoked on the iroks, they did great.

Dingman.

Yea i need to stock on some more supplies..

After yesterday though i really want to get a winch.
Im really thinking about getting the smittybuilt xrc8..
Anyone have any feedback on those?  im doing some research on pirate4x4 right now on them.

Dingman.

Well This guy that got stuck we were with got stuck going up a muddy hill climb.

The mud was really SOUPY at the bottom and at the top was firm ground..
And our first attempt to winch him out we tried pulling from the bottom in the soupy mud which didn't work so then we tried pulling him from the top of the hill and that didn't work.. (with a warn 8000)

Then we tried having the warn8000 and a harbor frieght 8000lbs winch pulling up hill.. So two 8000 pound winches  Which had no success.

And then we got another rig there which we tried to pull him back up (since the first two lines were already in position).  so that attempt had TWO warn 8000's, and the 8000lbs HF winch, with NO SUCCESS AT ALL....  Just completely stuck.. (didn't help the stuck truck had two broken birfs..)

So now that we had two free moving trucks with winches, we tried pulling him backwards AGAIN.. And since pulling from the bottom of this hill was super slippery mud, we had to have both trucks strapped to something so they wouldn't be pulled forward.

So Thomas's truck was attached to a stump and had his warn 8000 pulling backwards. and The 4runner with the other warn was strapped to my truck so it was harder to slide forward.

So it took TWO warn 8000's to pull the stuck truck backwards..  HE WAS STUCK..

Im just thinking, if i had a winch we might have gotten him out sooner since we wouldn't have waited for the other runner..

Dingman.

And ive seen the smittybuilts in use before and it got a super stuck chevy out once.. but he had some problems with the remote.

Im just thinking about getting one since they are about $300. and then definity a snatch block since nobody has one.

Thomas P

yeah we def needed a snatch or two.......
