thanks for the comments dudes!  its coming along good.  I didnt make as much progress today as i wanted. Woke up with a bad headache and it pretty much ruined most of my day, didnt start workin on it until four.  I did get the ugly rear x member cut out (the one that holds the spare tire)  i did a bunch of grinding on the frame and got rid of old mounts and other garbage.  Plan for tomorrow night is to get the new rear x-member put it with a reciever tube welded in, and get the back of the bed tacked on.

Hey Douglas that would be sweet if we can get that engine hoist over to my place tomorrow!  If not its cool, cuz i probly wont work on it tuesday or wednesday.

ha ha  there is a crap load of fab work going into it now!

So today at work i mad a new rear x-member with a reciever tube welded into it.  Got home and cut the old crappy x-member that holds the spare out.  Then cleaned up the frame real well, welded about 15 of the ugly factory holes shut and sanded them smooth so the frame looks nice and pretty.  Once the new member was all installed i sanded all the paint off the areas where the body is going back together for the bob and i got the rear section all tacked in place.  onto the pics

thanks dudes!

Well i went out to Twisted Customs today to buy some tabs and bushings to build me new motor mounts, while i was out there the guy i got my spare from showed up so i was able to bring home my spare tire today!  The owner of Twisted Customs knew of a guy that had one brand new never been used 40x13.50x17 MTR.  I told him i wanted it and he sold it to me for 100 bucks!! :rockingout:  Perfect match 40" spare for 100 bucks is an amazing deal, i'm super stoked about that!  My 86 mr2 is the only thing i have to drive so i had to stuff the spare in the trunk   I also got the engine hoist all hooked up and ready to remove the old motor mounts, I will work on that thursday.

thank you!  yeah i like how the fenders turned out, but now that i took the body lift out i need to cut most of the factory sheetmetal out of the rear fenders and re-tub it up so the tires wont rub.  I have been checkin ut your build too, i like it, nice and simple!

well sorry to let you down bro, I'm not really bobbing my top.  I wont be using my tailgate or a rear window.  I'm just gonna cut the top off right behind the sliding window's, and then make a small canvas top that will snap on to that and down to the rear of the body

Whatttttttttttttttttt
ha ha  sorry dude!  I dont like the look of the bobbed tops.  I dont want that much body stickin up when I do have the top on.  It will be off most of the time though.

I got my custom motor mounts all done tonight :bananaguitar:  pretty stoked to have that project done.  the engine now sits 1.5" lower than it used to, and I still have plenty of clearance between the oil pan and axle housing, and I can close the hood now :rara:  I will try to get some pics posted later.

Alright dude, I will let you drive it!  I'm serious!  Yeah i've been tryin to keep a good steady move on it and get stuff rebuilt the way I like it.

here are some pics of the mounts...  I cut all the old brackets and garbage off the frame and tossed the stock mounts, one was torn and the other was soon to follow!  I used the stock brackets that bolt to the block as my base to start building the mounts from.  I tacked my tabs to those, bolted in the mount and bolted it to the block.  Then I welded in a reinforcement plate on the frame and cut a tube to fit from the plate to the bushing sleeve.  Welded it up and good to go!
