Nicely put guy!

So i figured out my fuse blowing problem tonight.  I found an exposed "hot" wire that was just hanging down and shorting against a steel fuel line :yikes:  So i cut the exposed end off and took care of the problem.   KNITECRAWLERS and I are planning on doing some wheelin tomorrow, so hopefully i wont have any more problems

well my tach does not work because of the engine swap.  I need to figure out how to hook up a signal wire from my 7mgte to the stock tach.

I worked on taking some more material out of the rear fenders today.  i took three inches of material out of the rear,  tacked the inner fender back to the outer and took it out for some flexin.  This is the first time i have really flexed it this much.  I am pretty happy with how well the springs move.  I still need to take a little bit more out of my rear fenders and trim the pinch weld on the firewall and i should be good once i get my bumps installed!  NITEKRAWLERS and i also replaced all the front spring leaves except the main leaf with wagoneer leaves the other night.  I think that helped make the front flex a bit easier. Here are a few pics, my phone is the only thing i had on me and it was getting dark so they kinda suck.

thanks alot dude! yeah i like the way it sounds too.  it had a muffler on it but it was all rusted out and leaking so i took it off.  Right now it is full 3" with a cat and a resonator.  I would like to redo the whole system though, it has been pieced together and looks pretty crappy.

Lookin sick man!
ye ye bro!
I trimmed another inch or so out of the overall width of the rear fenders last night. The tires stuff up really tight without rubbing now. I also got my front bumpstops setup and tacked in place, i just need to make a couple gussets off the frame to support the upper pad then i will weld them on for good.  Here is a few pics of the fender work.  I cut them as high as possible (all the way to the top of the wheel well) without having to build a custom fender tub.

thanks dude,  It wasnt too hard to do.  Just take your time and be careful to only cut the outside layer of sheetmetal, then you will have plenty of sheetmetal on the inner fender to bend up into place and weld back together.

4 Runner looks awesome, I did the same thing with my rear fenders by trimming the outer skin then bending the inner fender up and welding it.  One thing I have found though is if you hit a rock or tree in the fender area, it tends to pop open or peel apart.  I fixed my the first few time it happend, but have recenly given up fixing it since it is a PITA.  You can also apply some automotive panel epoxy to the seam on the inside to help hold it together.

thanks!  Yeah i still need to finish welding it all up.  Hopefully i wont have alot of problems with it coming apart.  When i have the interior stripped out to do my bob and dove I might try glueing the inside like you said.

I Got my front bump stops all installed yesterday.  I welded the cup that holds the rubber bump, right to my u-bolt plate. Then i bult some contact pads on the frame.  I used a piece of 1x2 square tube, boxed in the ends, then welded it to the botom of the frame. I made some gussets out of 1/8" plate and had them dimple die'd.  Turned out pretty sweet!  I also got my ARP hub studs and Chro-Mo hub gears installed tonight.  I sure am glad those hub gears came in today because my pass side one was already broken and i didnt know it :yikes:  Here are some pics of the bump stop setup.

ooo!! let me guess, ford body mount bushings!?!

GrenadedToy

are those the 2nd gen s10 blazer bumpstops?

I have some that look just like that but black, and they sit in one of those cups. They're a little bit taller too.
After reading a lot of people complain that the poly bumps are too hard(and kinda spendy), I found a tech thread on pirate for cheap bumpstops and someone mentioned the blazer bumps were removeable, and you could cut them down if you needed. So after a quick trip to the junkyard and $8 later (vs $40+ for poly bumps all around) I had some nice soft bump stops that are a dime a dozen and just about as cheap. A lot easier on the wallet when you tear one of these up insted of the polyurethane. Only thing is I still gotta put em on. :gap:

truck looks super sick with the cut fenders. nice job.
