I still have a few little things to finish up before i take it out.  Today i cut my spring perches off and rotated the rear axle to get my proper pinion angle.  I also trimmed out the driver side rear fender too.  I need to adjust my radiator a little bit because it rubs on the frame every once and a while.  The biggest thing i need to do is get the rear e-locker working.  I'm gonna work on that tomorrow after work and hopefully i can get it goin.  Also i'm gonna do my taxes here in the next day or two and find out if i will have a big enough return for 30 spline longs   It already has 27 spline longs, but they are older ones and i dont know how long they will hold up to the 40's.

So Tim and i got the rear electric locker workin tonight   We had to take the motor off the housing and take the cover plate off. There was just a little bit of rust on the splines inside that was causing it to be seized up.  We cleaned her out and re-greased it, works great now!  I think i finally have all the little stuff wrapped up and i'm ready to get this thing out wheelin.  I still need to put the front bump stops on and probly make the shock hoops taller. I also made a front axle truss out of some 1 5/8" tubing today at work.  I will get some pics of that later.

Yeah i think i am gonna rock it the way it is for a while.  The motor and everything seems pretty strong so i dont think i will have any problems.


I dont really have any updates right now.  I need to figure out where to mount the e-lock switch and run the harness for that.  Other than that i'm hopin to take it out wheelin maybe this weekend and see how everything works.  My rear shocks are not on right now and i will probly take the fronts off before wheelin it so i can measure my max amount of travel and build bump stops and shock hoops to fit.

not sure man.  i was thinkin about keepin those and a set of 27 spline hubs in the rig with me so i have a spare if i ever need one.  you interested in buying them? My buddy might want them to if i decide to sell em

27 spline longs are still 30 spline in the hubs, just 27 spline where the inner axle mates up. YES I would be interested in a set of longs, tryin to get my runner legit for a snowrun up to TOLLGATE in a few months.... just keep me posted!
 

i think you have somethin confused.  Stock birfields are 27 spline at the hub. The longs i have are just the chromoly birfield, and they are the 27 spline version so they will fit right in without having to replace the hub gears.  When you buy a complete set of 30 spline longs you also have to buy 30 spline hub gears to use them.  Also the ones i have are the older style so i dont know how strong they are compared to the new 27 spline longs.

 Yeah i would love to go hit up iceman but its closed this time of year.  we will just have to find some snow bashin to do on some roads.  I'm hoping to convince the club to hit up farmingdale when we do the monthly run, that would be fun.

Nope. YOU are confused.. STOCK= 30 spline at the hub, 27 spline at the birf and 30 spline at the diff.
27 spline longs are designed to fit onto your STOCK inners 
The reason for the "30 spline" chromos from longfield is to keep them "warrantied"
IFS hubs are 27 spline and Bobby also sells a hub gear to make IFS hubs compatable with birfs (30 spline)

If you dont believe me check it out, I just slid a hub onto the diff side of my long inner axle which is 30 spline and then I counted them to double check
