ya i will let everyone know on the board. i dont plan on wheeling that truck anymore, ill still take it on camping trips but im done rock crawling it. this might sound stupid to some people, but i could easily sell my whole truck couse its way legit but i couldn't stand to see someone else wheel that thing after everything if put into it as far as hours, love, and money. it would really weird me out. so the only thing im down for is parting it out.

No I feel you, I have had some people make me pretty reasonable offers on my 4runner and I almost sold it once or twice but in the end I would just be pissed seeing it driving around. I know the feeling. I think I would rather part my 4runner out too over selling it as a whole, running truck.

ya and i look at it this way. im not gonna sell my built rig to some lame ass that doesnt know how to build one. let alone id rather help people out couse i have lots of legit parts, and by doing so id make the other runners/trucks out there more legit.

ooo i know your plan doof... ur gonna snag parts off my :pokinit: while its sitting at your house haha just playing. thanks for the offer but honestly im not gonna be living in chico when this goes down. atleast thats most likely the plan. like i was saying about the only reason i would stay here is if i could get a welding job at sierra nevada and thats not gonna happen.

pg&e's not for me, theres better things in my opinion (ya the pays well... but whats money if im not happy). and as far as my runner, im over it, nothings gonna gonna change my mind. im looking for something that i can make unique, bad ass, and i want it to be modern. i dont think you guys understand how over it i am. im done. like i said its nothing on the performance on my truck but im just done with that body style, model, engine, and everything else about it. i have absolutely no motivations to want to wheel that thing or work on it anymore. this was my started truck, i think everyone can gain lots of experience, knowledge, and be happier with building a truck wheeling it for a while and moving on, unless what they have is already exactly what they want.

THK Matt

so basically you want a new vehicle to trick out eh?

2001-2004 D-Cab Taco on 6 or 8 lug 609 Spydertracs? that'd be dope
supercharged, arbs, etc

but yes I agree Matt, gotta start somewhere... I mean LB for example... look how many vehicles he has gone thru. I am sure there is something with his current he doesn't like (despite the rollover)

anyways good luck bro!

i bet i could get you a D60 front and 14 bolt rear for your toy axles.  i 1 ton swap would make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside about your truck all over again.

but i feel you on the wanting something new.  i constantly throw around the idea of selling the superduty, the trailer, and my toyota and taking my $25k buying a cheap 2wd 3.4L excab taco and starting new on DD/Bulletproof Wheeler.  of course it would be D60/D70 6.17 ARBs D60 Bifrs/blah blah blah.

but dont get so down on your truck, there are a few more trips this summer i would like to see you on with us, geeze all you broke was a chunder bearing, Billy broke one at hammers, its not a big deal.  wait until marlin crawl is over and then take it apart, or if youre just going to cut it up, wheel the flopp out of it and be 'that guy' all summer until its a tin can, then remove the bling.

as far as the 60 nd 14 bolt i agree with what your saying but i can tell you right now i still wouldn't be happy, like i said its nothing to do with the performance or even that i broke that damn bearing its just that my truck does not interest me one bit anymore its a really weird feeling. im just ready to like you said move on and get a legit bullet proof wheeler. i really like the idea of having a good motor, good sound comfortable cab, not have to worry about smog, wont have constantly do :pokinit: to me engine, have ac, have a truck because im over the runner body, etc. and as far as what id do to it, it would be d60, front d70 rear, arb front and rear, 4.88's, linked front and rear with coilovers (not sure yet on what style of links) prob just 40"s for starts, and a partial exo, duals 4.7. ( i still wanna keep it street legal). im dying to fab a bad ass truck of my dreams so im going to do it. wheeling is the only thing im into so even though its gonna take lots of money, im going to do it.

as far as trips this summer, i wanna roll passenger really bad. i still wanna go on the trips because i love it but im not taking my truck. im taking this seriously and i need to start saving up and i cant keep destroying my dd. i need to focus on getting a job couse my program ends in 3 weeks. since the plans have spilled... i plan on finding a legit job possibly welding for RF MCDonnald (on pressure vessels) or possibly some nuclear power plant refurnishing projects that are going to happen down south in September, move out, buy the taco i want to build...but use it as a DD for a few months. because i cant use my truck as one. after a few months ill find another cheap car (like callens ;),,use that as my new DD and then part my truck out for money to put to the taco and then begin tearing down and building. its kinda a lot of :pokinit: but when im motivated and put my mind to something it will get done i can guarantee that.

THK Matt

go for it man!!!!

you didnt go to school to do nothing.
you gotta start somewhere and what your doing is kinda how I feel right now too.
on a milder scale of course lol

Dingman.

That sucks bro, but do what you feel you have to.

It is a weird feeling about not being interested in your rig anymore, i go back and forth with mine.  Some days i love it and some days i wish i wouldn't have wasted the money in this.   Now i don't have a 1st gen but im sick of the 4runners, i wish i would have started with a pickup.  Its weird i guess its hard to be happy with what i have.

I completely hear you about wanting to save up and not destroy your DD.  Thats the problem with mine, It sucks but i don't really want to do to much stuff with mine at the moment cause when something breaks,  IM SOL since that is my only rig.    Im going to look into buying a small 2wd toy pickup for dd, that way i would still get decent mpgs, and i don't have to worry about breaking my truck on the weekends.

I missed it though, i read what you would like to do, but to what style truck?

-Matt-

ya, i have definitely had many of those f-this truck days just out of frustration. but this is way different..im just ready to move on.

i want a 2000-03 tacoma xtra cab 5spd 3.4. i would prefer an 03 but they are pretty expensive. If i can get a hold of a trd that would be cool couse i could sell the rear end, butt we will see what happens. either way what i have envisioned is going to make little school girls cream. im ready to put the spark back into wheelin again (for myself). its easy to say 'we all have dreams of a bad ass truck whoop-te-do', but im really gonna put this into effect. i wouldn't be taking it this far as for conversation if i wasn't sure of somewhat whats gonna go down.

I can't ever see myself getting rid of my 4runner to be honest (it has been my dream truck since I was 14), but I would love to build an extra cab taco someday. They are popping up like crazy around here and I do agree, having the modern day comforts a Taco provides would be way nice. I have just gotten so used to my spartan 4runner with no AC and cupholders etc. Biggest thing I would want is more HP, but since I don't live in the city its not that bad and I have gotten used to it. I can imagine how annoyed I would get living in the city with a lifted 22RE pushing a lot of extra weight... the extra balls of a 3.4 would be hell of nice too...

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

If you start parting out let me know I would be interested in duals and half doors and maybe front axle. :yesnod:

well i might be moving to Modesto this summer. im beginning to line up a job with a company called RF McDonald. they design, build, and repair bigggg asss pressure vessels (heating water for refinery's, large hospitals, etc) my foots half way in the door. they are interested in hiring for an apprentice welding position this summer. the downside is i have to move (which i knew i would) and the other downside is out of all places...Modesto. but you live there so that would be a hugeee plus. i was curious if u are living on your own, or if there is any way i could live with you for about 3 weeks to get :pokinit: rolling? that is if i get this job

As for living here we have a 3 bedroom 2 bath with 3 people already here. If we had more room I would deff be chill with that. Sorry about that part dood.
