How much do you want for it? If I remember correctly, you were talking about parting your truck out or selling it at one point, but I don't know how far you got into doing that. How are you liking those Hunsaker seats? I am still contemplating buying a set for my truck, as my stock seats are beyond shot.

I dont really know what it is worth. The all pro kit that it is modeled off of, which I guess they don't even sell anymore, was $500 and this is fully welded, assembled, and covered in aluminum. So.... maybe $900 bucks? And I still like me seats. They have held up and are comfy, but I will be selling those also if you are interested.

If you want any of this I can hold it for you since I am in no hurry as far as parting it and starting my next project. If you want to buy the frame, cab, cage, etc with no drivetrain we could do that too

KDSSR5, Im building my stock suspension for better flex.  Keeping it low and running 33's.  I read your thread from front to back, but i got a little lost in all 16 pages.  What leaf pack are you running, any pittman arm's or steering upgrades, are still using that 1" axel shim to move it forward?

Thanks man, i have built trucks before, but i always bought lift kits.  Trying to keep this one budget minded!  Thanks for any tips for the stock wheeler!  Sorry i did read and search, not to much out there for the non hardcore guy that i found...not trying too thread jack... :)

I don't think I can swing that much, unfortunately. $900 is a regear and a locker, plus I am saving for school so I don't think I can do it. I am sure you can find someone to buy it from you though!

I used the main leaf and the second leaf from the stock 85 front pack. Then I used three cut down leaf springs from a 90 rear pack to give it some arch.

I am still running the bolt on 1" move forward thing, and it has worked great.

I have a j-arm with a flipped ball, and am running a 4" drop pitman arm. if I were to do it again, I would just cut, sleeve, and weld the stock pitman arm because honestly the drop pitman arm gives too much drop.

In the rear I am running stock leaf springs and Ford Aerostar coil springs.

I also have longer shackles installed front and rear.

They have served me well, but I am ready for an upgrade.

Any other questions just ask. That is what this place is for right?

They are awesome. The best snow/ice tire I have used on any vehicle. Kicks the hell out of the BFG A/Ts I had on this truck before. They seem to be wearing great on the rear axle. My front axle has an alignment issue so I have never been able to keep tires in good shape up there.

Progress and such.

Hints of front spring setup:

Got truck in garage:

Gutted interior and found:

Installed 1" Body Lift and started on duals.

Explosion:

And together:

And where I am hoping to keep it positioned for mounting. I am nearly flatbelly, the lowest point on the transfercase is only one inch lower than the frame. Frame is at 23" and t-case is at 22"

This caused a bit of a problem though:

While I had everything out of the way I welded together this little puppy:

Then I decided to start playing around with bed ideas. This is a mockup I came up with. The real thing will be built with square and rectangle tubing. The whole setup is bolt-on. This design integrates sliders and a roll bar into the bed. The boxes in front of the wheel well cutouts will house the batteries. It will have a tailgate, I just didn't mock it up. The tubing the model is sitting on represents the Toyota frame to give a bit of a visual on how it will come together.

And that is what I have so far. If you or someone you know is looking to buy a Marlin :turtle: rear bumper for a 2nd gen shortbed truck that is powdercoated gray, let me know.

Quick and dirty MSPaint mockup of the bed. Light blue is slider, green is the bed frame, yellow is the bed frame base, purple is where the batteries will go, one on each side, and red is other paneling, but I have yet to decide what.

looks good, may want to consider the departure angle though. I would be interested in your rear bumper, I will be in the black hills next week, but that is still pretty far from you.

I am moving the rear axle back 9 inches with some different springs I have, and the new bed will be no longer than the original bed. I need to have a functional bed in the truck, haha.

The bumper is off and ready to go. It is not pretty anymore, but I never dropped on it really hard, so its just cosmetic damage. It was there to protect the bed and it shows.

New wheelbase:

Are those F-150s long side forward? If so you better build an anti wrap bar.

I hope to get the interior lined and back together by next weekend.

Tacoma springs. The axle is actually about 5 inches further back than it will actually be. I did not yet have the axle bolted on, it was only held on by ratchet straps, so it slid back a bit.

Have to say not a fan of the wheelbase but if it works for you then good...

I figure I move the axle back a foot and I can get a better departure angle while still utilizing a 6 foot bed. :) I need the 6 foot bed to do truck stuff. I wish I had a long wheelbase frame though, that is for sure.

Patched some holes in the floor today and worked on fixing a rust hole in the back of the cab.

X2 I think you will definitely like it. What do you have to do to the bed to make it fit? Are you moving the fender back?

Correct! My bed has several rust holes big enough to stick my fist through, so I am not even going to try anymore with it. Time to move on.
