goes to a metal tube, then to a P shaped hose that goes into the bottom of the intake manifold

Ok, lets see if these help you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Right below carb and intake. Hose on left goes to heater core valve on firewall and comes from metal pipe that bolts to head between intake and head. Hose on right goes from metal tube that comes from back of timing cover, and goes to water port on stock carb. Small black hose with red wire ziptied to it is the vacuum hose for the brake booster.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Looking down from top of carb. Hose on bottom comes from metal tube that's connected to back of timing cover. Hose on top goes to large port on manifold.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Overall view of things.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to ditch the stock water choke carb, you can probably replace the straight nipple on the top of the manifold with a 90 degree elbow, and route the hose from the back of the timing cover to the new 90* nipple.

   now i remember :wall:

i remember now  i used a 2 inch long piece of rubber hose, into a 90 elbow into the hose to the pipe bolted to the back of the timing cover

removing that nipple and installing a threaded 90  would be best

.............. doesnt want to spring back
should be 2 nuts on the carb throttle shaft, loosen it a little and that should do it,  remember that spring i told you to make sure you got in there ??

friend came over the other day to pick me up,  fired the truck up so he could hear it.....  blowing oil on the driverside... looks like out of the spark plugs....  but wasnt fowling out.. still runnin.....skeers me, dont think i over filled it... what it looks like,  its sort of on a hill also,  just  4 qts, figured would need a little xtra to fill oil filter an galleys etc.. im at his house visiting while his family is on vacation..... when i get home ill see what that might be,  still got a leak under the intake...   be better to buy a seal,  or would some rtv, work?     all so leaks around the lower temp sensor,  gonna put some tape around the threads hope that fixes that.  tues when i get paid finish gettin the paper work part of it legal... then the skeery trip to town an have muffler welded..(open header)  in a hick-town... sure to be a ticket... :crossed:  linkage on carb still wont spring back... but i can lift up the pedal with my foot n it idles back down.....  still more adjusting.. oh an yeh im a boob... this is all new to me.. i love vehicles... but normally just tinkered... this is the first motor ive ever put in,  much less custom....
