glue the gaskets to the block,  then  get it close and pop it on the bottom with a mallet or the handle of a hammer, it should "pop" on in there

finally got it on there..... the gear that goes on the shaft an turns oil pump seems really close to the timing cover

put the bolt in that goes thru the head into the timing cover and maybe it will pull it up tight enough, also get the oil pan buttoned up before tightening the bolts that hold the cover on

got it on finally... now fighting with the oil pump seal, tryin to get it to stay so i can put oil pump on.......  keep gettin attcked by damn fire ants... seems under my truck has turned into some damn super highway

glop some vaseline on it, it will hold it enoughto stay put, but wont cause any problems later as it will breakdown and go away

nothing yet.... still fightin with seal..... had a real bad case of the blaahs.......  my son is coming over from the 1st  til the 10th.... that'll help me get me motivated to get some stuff done

well its back together.... have to wait 2 days for a new fuel pump spacer to come in the one that was on it... fell apart....   it turns over....  keep fingers  :crossed: no mixey of water an oil

dude,  just advance it (turn distributor clockwise) till it kinda makes it hard to start, then back it off till it starts easy, then  when you get down here i can time it with my light

make sure the exhaust can move a little,  cant remember what kind of flange that header had but it needs a place to take the twisting of the truck  as you go over bad flexy places, i know when i had mine welded up solid i cried when my header cracked :down:

k..the header was cut off when i got it no flange....   should i have one welded in?   or allow mor movement by the muffler?
