The story is, it's a Ranchero. Lol.

Its my friends car. He works with me. He's been doing the bodywork on it in his spare time for a month or so, getting ready to paint it in a few months. I'm trying to convince him to bag it.

Got the notches installed.

Thanks man!

Boxed the rear frame and built a rear cross member for the lift bars and air tank.

Air tank will fit under the bed, and there is enough room to run the fittings behind the bumper or a roll pan and still work on them with the bed on.

Ya. I just tied the lower link mounts into the boxing plates.

I finished boxing the frame and built lower link bars.

I am setting the suspension up at a 5" ride height, with the wheelbase moved back 1/4" from stock. Gary tells me some of the bolt on kits shove the driveline into the transmisson on standard cabs. With the suspension fully compressed the wheelbase will be about 1/8" forward of stock, and should have no driveline to transmission issues.

With your top-notch fab work and ingenuity, it would be a bad ass build for sure!

Twisted Minis

I found one I liked today, and left my card on it asking if he wanted to sell it. Only issue is my money is tight right now. Will have to wait until later next year before I can afford another project of my own.

i think everybody has the same tight money problem right now...lol.  you must invest a lot of your time making some of those parts, they look tits.  i can tell you like to weld, every picture has looong ass beads.  i must say i enjoy welding a lot also, its so satisfying.  ill post up pics later tomorrow of my friends 85 pickup im building.  i did his rear suspension a couple weeks ago and ive been working on the front this weekend.  its going from bone stock to badass wheeler in like less than a month, which is fast for people on low budgets LOL

Ya my money is very tight with the cop car situation. I basically worked for a month with no pay, which is why I am doing this S10 right now, so I can pay the rent. I am spending a lot of time on this one, in the details, but its because he wants it, and is willing to pay for it. Otherwise this would have been all MIG welded with plain jane brackets.

Cop car is officially on hold. Ricky said he's getting laid off this week. Sooo, if anyone needs some tube bumpers or anything like that, I will do it on a budget. I need to make sure I can pay rent next month..

Ya the 3-link is offset to clear the driveshaft, and keep the stock tank location.

And basically I worked for free because the guy didn't pay me. He was supposed to drop off payments, and then said he couldn't. So I had to spend another week just getting the car rolling by finishing the suspension.

so are you jsut storing the cop car until he pays for it? or did you basically get screwed? i know from a business standpoint, thats grounds for a lien sale.....

He said he was going to have another check for me this week. But today I got a text that said he lost his job again today, and it will be 6 weeks before he can get me that check. I heard that last time, so I don't know. I am storing the car right now, and he still wants it finished. I know what day I stopped work, that is not paid for, if I feel the need to go for a lien sale. I hope not to since he is a friend and club member.

Also, I found a 289 for my truck. So I think I'm gonna try to stuff that in it when I do the new frame.
