Control arms are finished. Second shot are some adapter bolts I made to bolt to the stock frame. Last is a mock up shot.

I fiddled with wiring and plumbing today while Drew was clearancing the frame on the D50 for the control arms. Got a Stinger 4GA - (2)8GA fused distribution block to split the power between the compressors. Running two relays, very overkill, but very symmetrical. Wiring is just mock up so far, I am waiting on some Techflex to finish it off.

I only use ViAir these days. 380 or 480 is common for use with a tank. If you don't want to run a tank they have some meant just for airing tires, like the 495 and a few other sizes I am not that familiar with.

I can get them for you too, and usually beat most other's pricing.

Got the control arm tabs welded on, and put it all back together. Just need to add shocks tomorrow and then it's done.

Doing some plumbing and wiring. First shot shows valves plumbed on the tank. Second is some 9 wire cable, with bullet connectors to attach to the AVS switch box. I had to use two sizes of heat shrink to cover the connectors, but it made it easy for me to match the length of the heat shrink on each one, making it look uniform. Before I started, I slipped a piece of 3/4" heat shrink over the cable, and when I finished I pulled it forward, and shrunk it so about 1/2" of wire is visible so that I can still see the color coding on them. Last picture is a shot of the toggle switch I used to turn give or cut power to the pressure switch. I like this style toggle because it looks very factory, and blends in well with black plastic. Most people won't see it.

A shot of the finished shock towers, and one of the wheel turned with the new narrowed control arms.

Truck is done now. Just waiting for it to be picked up so I can turn the Toyota around and Z it.

Got in some Tech Flex so I finished up the wiring. First shot is the valve wiring. Second is the power wiring. Third a close up of the Tech Flex I mentioned. Fourth is the switch box wired up and the bulk under the carpet.

so how much would an air compressor from you cost me?  one big enough to air up a set of 37's without a tank.  thanks!

Unfortunately, none of them are rated to fill a 37" tire without a tank if I remember correctly. I will check my catalogue tomorrow and see if they offer one, but last I remember 35" was the max for a no tank fill.
2002 Dodge 2500 Cummins

ok well i could get a small tank i suppose.   i am just trying to save as much space as possible!  i would probly never fill the 37's all the way though. the most i ever put in them is about 25 psi.  idk if that makes a difference at all.  thanks for checkin!

I'm not sure.

I bet one for 35's could fill a 37 if you gave it a break. You just don't want to overheat them, because they shut down for lik e30 minutes if they get too hot. It's an overload protection thing.

They make a 495c now that is rated to do a 37" tire without a tank, but it is a $400 compressor. You could put together a smaller compressor (480C is $250 range) with a 3 gallon tank and probably do better.

400!! yikes!!  i think i could make the smaller one work.   does 250 cover the wiring harness and other accessories?  does it come with a hose and fittings or are those things extra?  thanks for the info dude!!

The 480 I believe comes with a relay and an inline fuse. They all come with a leader hose that has a check valve built in. And they come with a 200PSI pressure switch. Anything else is extra.

sounds like it comes with most everything i would need.  i will keep those in mind.  i am checkin out some other stuff too. thanks!

Doing the frame Z now. First two shots show cutting out, and smoothing the VIN stamp that protrudes from the frame. It gets in the way of plating the frame. Third shot shows the frame cut and moved up.

First shot here shows the Z fully boxed. Second is the VIN welded back onto the frame, and last is an overall shot.

The motor has a Weber with one of those really tall one piece adapters. It's really close to the hood right now, but I have some more work to do. The oil pan on this truck is already pretty close to the crossmember, so I am just going to put in some 1/2" drop mounts, instead of my 1" mounts. And when I do the transmission crossmember I will be raising the transmission up an inch to make it even and put the motor back at it's proper level. When the transmission comes up, the carb will come back down a little as well. So it should end up with plenty of room.

I'm more worried about the fan right now. The shroud doesn't fit on right now, I'm hoping it does when the motor comes back down.
