So what are the plans for the bed itself?  Are you going to raise the floor of it or cut the floor out and make some braces like your truck?

The bed floor is already raise 7 inches, just a few inches less than mine is.

Nice work!!  Ive seen what you can do!! SICK!!!   Did you finish up the rhyno cages... I.E. yours and Aarons? I need to talk to you about fabing up some plating on my front axle. Do you use a sheer or plasma?  Id like to plate my front axle so it acts as a gusset and looks like the diamond hybrid axle :]  Any ideas??

Twisted Minis

Rhyno cages? I had a guy call me about doing some but never heard back.

I generally use a plasma for thicker stuff, but have access to a shear.

You could build a truss that basically flows into a diff gaurd and make it look similar to a Diamond axle.

Finally got that cross member in and built some lower link bars.

I also used this truck as a model to prototype a weld on 3-link kit for the Toyotas that retains the stock tank location (only raised 3/4").

crawlerdan

make that in a long travel version and ill buy it

Twisted Minis

I think I'd need a truck with a lift on hand to measure for link bar lengths.

I will see what I can do. Who wants to install the first one and be a testee? You guys will need to provide your own suspension (IE springs/coilovers).

ill do it.....if we can do it long distance, i can help with measurements ect.

Twisted Minis

I will try to measure off of this truck while I still have it.

What would the general consensus on wheelbase be? Stock, or pushed back a few inches?

adjustable 2 inches, make it easier to sell to everyone

Twisted Minis

Okay, I need to think about it. This stuff is all in my spare time since it's not really paying the bills right now. I'm assuming you guys would prefer a pivoting type joint right?

The heim (pivot) on top of the diff is fine but the lower links would need adjustable heims to get the most flex possible.  Oh, and don't forget to make the front mount for the lower links a wedge shape so it won't get hung up on rocks.

if the upper link had pivots everywhere, it would be pointless and allow wander and slop. one at the axle end is more then sufficiant

Twisted Minis

I was saying you guys would probably want a pivot joint on each link bar where it connects to the axle. The other side would be a standard Poly bushing.

And this kit already has a wedge shaped lower mount, why wouldn't I do it for a 4wd?

Sorry Twisted, my bad.  I missed the picture of your lower mount but just went back and looked.  You have the idea .

Crawlerdan, I realize that 2 poly joints are necessary at the cab end of the upper "Y" link to keep the axle centered.  I just said it needed the one heim on top of the diff (for articulation of the rear axle).

BTW, I agree that the ends with heims should be adjustable - it will help with getting the pinion angle dialed in as well as the wheelbase.

Twisted Minis

I always like to have at least one adjustable link, because of pinion angle. I thought about this one for a bit today. I think I can have something worked out in a couple of weeks.

I got the upper wishbone done today.

Couple people asked about the transition on the end of the lower links, so I figure I will just show everyone.

Made a bracket to move the brake T behind the axle.

And the link system all welded in place.
