Bwahahahaha...I am enjoying exercising my 2nd amendment rights.  The 357 is great cause I can go to the range and shoot cheap 38 specials all day long and save the good rounds for the communists.

i spoted a extra cab datsun that needs to be looking like that you have inspired me to get one and slam it so low i wont be able to get in (me 6'1")

Twisted Minis

The owner of this thing is 6'4". You just gotta be slim, the steering wheel is in my crotch pretty good when I sit inside.
2002 Dodge 2500 Cummins

Twisted Minis

And I can't afford to do free work. I have enough work on my plate as it is right now, don't have much time for my own stuff.
2002 Dodge 2500 Cummins

GJToyotabug

slim is a check for me ha ha are their kits that you slam it that much i mean i know theirs frame work and channeling and all but did you build the control arms

Twisted Minis

Yeah I build my own control arms for the Toyota frame that I clipped the truck with. The Datsun suspension is hard to work with, doesn't get enough lift to clear the tires, too much camber, and I can't get replacement bushings for the spindles, so ti was always going to be sloppy.

Theres really no kit for this aside from the air management.

I make a lot of Toyota parts to make them easier to build for the average fab guy. Or if you want an S10, you can pretty much build one of those with a cutoff wheel and a crescent wrench.

If you put the Taco core support on it would probably work, and could be done without a welder.

But the cleanest way would be cut/grind/weld/etc.

Okay I finally got a bunch of pictures off of my camera.

Heres Jerome in the truck.

New front crossmember because the Toyota frame is longer and I couldn't fit the stock one back in. Too bulky.

Laid out with the front sheetmetal in place.

And shock mounts.

Very nice

So do you typically prefer to work with older model mini trucks over newer vehicles?

Twisted Minis

Well, no. But that seems to be what I get the most. I can't say I prefer anything really, but older minitrucks are easier (in some ways) to work on. But newer trucks are bigger, and easier to fit stock hoods, bodydrops etc. The 70s minitrucks really are mini.

If I had my choice all together, I wouldn't work on anything newer than the 50s. I'd love to just build 30s hot rods and 50s customs all day.

Finished up the front suspension. Put it together for the last time, ran the brake lines, cotter pins, paint, etc.

Modified the radiator hoses.

now are you making your own suspensions for these minis? those control arms dont look like factory stamped steel stuff.....

if you are those are pimp! keep up the good work!

I make my own control arms for the Toyota trucks. So I narrowed a Toyota frame for this truck, since the original suspension was shot, had poor geometry, and I couldn't find any replacement parts to rebuild it.

I need to take new pictures. The interior is slowly getting done. Got the door panels finished up at least. I also started building a full frame for it. Started the front clip in 2x3, will have more on that in a month or so. In the mean time its mostly a parts runner for the shop and my other projects.

Twisted Minis

Yeah its a Lotus. It bugs me that my truck is taller. New frame means the truck will go lower.

how much air is under the front fender? It looks like the bed is pretty much on the ground, so how much do you expect to gain?
