I can't tell,  Is that a b2600 bed or a b2000 bed?  I always wanted one with b2600 bed and fenders slammed like that one.

The front Fenders say B2600. I wish he would have grabbed the hood. I think the B2600i hoods with that little bubble are pretty sweet.

Yeah, I agree on the hood.

The 4wd bedsides have little turn down flares before and after the wheel wells.

Yeah, that too. That makes bodydropping them a little bit more work too. Lol.

We'll see how it does.

That is the muffler.  You add or remove baffles to change the backpressure, which in turn changes the sound.  Think of it as a tuneable muffler.

I had a SupperTrapp on my CRX back in the 80's. It sounded like a weed trimmer. :gap:

Nice work. :yesnod: I can't wait to see your work on a 4X. 8)

they use those on quads too.  i have like 10 on my raptor.  dont the different numbers of plates change the performance too? like more low end or more high end power depending on the number? or maybe thats just quads... but very nice work.  i never thought i'd like lowered trucks, but lately im really starting to like them.

Thats just one of the small Super Trapps. The standard ones come with the tuneable plates, but also come with an actual muffler. But They're like $200, and thats out of the price rang for this truck. But I'd like to run them on my next truck. I like them a lot. I'll try to make a video of this when its running (assuming it runs, didn't when I got it).

Captain4x2, I'm pretty sure the tailgate is a different shape. I'm just looking for a smooth stock gate that I can weld into my bed and modify to fit the way I need it.
2002 Dodge 2500 Cummins

jimbo74

im not sure, i think the gate might actually be really close to teh same.... the dimensions seem to be about right, and i know they mount hte same way..... there just might be the little body line @ the top

The bodyline at the top is different for sure.

How it mounts isn't important, because I'm going to weld it in anyways. I don't see the point in having a workign tailgate if my bed is like 8 inches deep.

I'm just really set on the stock smooth gate thats incredibly hard to find.

They just look so awesome. I just can't find one. Lol.

Also if anyone wants their truck linked thats in the area, I'm coming up on some free time. I'll be done with this thing in like a week, and I don't get my truck beck for at least a month, and my next bag job is mid July. Lol. I'm reasonable.

Tallchevy

I was into the show truck thing in the 80's & all the tailgates that I've seen from 83 & down had the Toyota stamped from the factory. I don't think Toyota started using the tailgate stickers 'til 84. I believe that smooth one is one of those after market plates that you had to weld in. Take the back panels off & look inside, maybe thats what that one is  :twocents:

Lol, damn dude. The guys are gonna love me when they come to pick up the recyclign with the back portion of that frame in there. Lol.

TallChevy, they actually did come factory on some trucks, but very rare. They didn't come with a sticker on the back, but there were CalSpecial stickers on the sides of the bed. I've seen only two trucks with them.

Getting there.

Sectioned the inner fenders 2 inches. Should be done with the bed Sunday-ish.

hey seth...... not sure if this is an option for you... but there is a custom company in oroville, ca that says they make a flat skin for the tailgate... might wnatto get in contact with them

http://grantkustoms.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=9_63

looks liek they are $120 without the options, but im sure you would do that yourself.... might be mreo $$$$ than a tailgate, but... might be an option for you

Yeah thats Grant Kustomz. Lol. I know most of the employees there. See them at all the shows. I have a rollpan from my truck from them.

I just don't want a smooth tailgate, I want that stock recess. Just without the TOYOTA stamp.

hey man... i work on a reservation here, and there's an 82 or 83 2wd that's been parked since i started there. today i pulled in to see if it had that tailgate you wanted, but it's stamped, instead of the sticker. sorry dude, i tried.

Twisted Minis

Damn. Thanks for looking though, I really appreciate it. They're definitely rare.

Thats probably what I will end up doing. But it would be less work to just get a smooth tailgate. Less warpage, less bodywork, less grinding. Thats what I planned ot do though, before I saw the smooth one.
