Don't worry. It's just like when they froze Han Solo in carbonite. Little guy never felt a thing.

and in 10,0000 yrs when they find the truck/ shift knob then can drill and extract the DNA for cloning    them we can repopulate a small island with turtles

whats the deal?
Well I am not gonna have enough time before the trip to get the aussie in. Still have the yellow top going in...

Now I am thinking Longs and an ARB might be more appropriate..we shall see!

Ok it's not like I don't like the selectability of that type of locker, and people will chime in and say they've never had any trouble with theirs but I've seen and fixed way too many on the trail and that doesn't include the ones that couldn't be fixed on the trail. The problem is you are dealing with several systems to make it all work and if even one fails you are stuck without it. The good thing is you do have the Detroit to back you up, I've seen where a rig only has ARB's and now has to deal with being open, open on the toughest trails. I ran into a couple guys on Dusy, no lockers due to an ARB failure. They were really in a pinch, so I started trying to fix the issue. Fortunately I was able to get it working for them, it turns out that their relief valves were clogged. I had to semi rebuild them basically cleaning out all the dust. This was on a brand new just installed "PROFESSIONALLY" at a shop so even that wasn't an issue. Air, dust and pneumatic equipment are not the best combos. It doesn't take long to have them get clogged.

If I were to go selectable it would be either an E-Locker or a manual.

Yep, I'd go with an e-locker if I had to do it again. You can manually engage them, no air needed, simple yet stout.

Collier, save up and get a hi-pinion with an e-locker from an FJ80. You'll love it

I think I still might be able to see ya'll at Superlift this weekend. Cross your fingers  :crossed:

I thought you had a front locker?

Pics look good. Thanks for posting them!
I did purchase an aussie locker and then proceeded to turn around and sell it! After watching my friend break 7 birfs in a matter of 2 months and taking many pictures and sitting around (no hard feelings, buddy) I decided I wasnt gonna lock the front until I could obtain a selectable locker of some sort.

It's actually kinda fun being open in the front hehe

What?????

Yea, I hear that. I have both a selectable (ARB) and Bobby Longs (and a broken truck... hahah!) I think you'd be okay with an Aussie and Longs, though. Then again, I'm not totally sure.

Lookin' good, mayne!

It's not so much broken as it's never been really completed...

Have to wire the rear e-locker, plumb the front ARB, rear shocks, bumpstops all around, new rear driveshaft, figure out tranny tunnel cover / seat placement, skid plates for the belly. Not to mention, I still have some engine gremlins...

Yea, so there ya have it!

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike
