How do you guys like the tundra for towing?

Good so far.  Only had it about a month.  I got 10mpg pulling 6000lb, plenty of power.

redrocket93

My tow rig. It actually does pretty well. Gets 10 mpg towing my loaded up 4runner and pulls the steep grades damn good for a half ton.

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

Yeah its a ways out for me, but I am leaning towards a Powerstroke with the 7.3 (only engine I want). That or a 12 valve Cummins. I am kind of curious about Duramaxes though, they are the only big 3 diesel trucks that I have not driven.

Actually Cummins were not used until 89, 12 valves ran from  89-98 and the 24 valves were from 98.5 up to 02 then came the common rails, which are still 24 valves.

I finally broke down and bought a truck!  Got the go-ahead from the wife about a month ago after she drove my car around in 95 degree weather with no AC

I've been looking for a couple of months and finally pulled the trigger on a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel with 32k miles.  I wanted the 5.9 because of all the emissions regulations placed on the 2007+ diesels.  I also wanted something with low miles.  Everything I found was high mileage.  The engines don't mind the high mileage but I wanted a truck that would last me for years to come.

Onto the pics.

These were at the sellers house last Sunday

Wheelbase is the same as a longbed quad cab Dodge Ram

Back seat is huge!  The kids will have a ton of space along with any adult that sits back there.

These were today after I picked it up

Next to my dad's 04 quad cab have I've borrowed for 4 years now

Kids wanted to play back there all night

The 4Runner needs to get out sometime.

Nice.  You've got the truck I was looking for (5.9, manual, 4x4).  I settled for the quad cab longbed though :disturbed:
