My new tow rig I picked up a while ago. 94 7.3 Direct Injection (1st version of the Powerstroke) 5speed 2wd all stock with a 60 gallon rear fuel cell. I picked it up for $2000 with a "blown headgasket" The previous owner changed the oil cooler because that is a common cause of water in the oil. The truck ran tits so I knew the headgaskets were good. He said he changed the oil filter once and the oil 3 times. All I did was 2 oil/filter changes and oil is clean/water free. SO pretty much I got somebodys "headache" that was as simple as changing the oil and putting some miles on it.

Oh yea and it had a "drive 10-15 miles and the truck will die" symptom. That was a really common on the older Powerstrokes and all it is was the Crank Angle Sensor. $10 for a new MotorCraft sensor through work and that problem was gone.

A couple, it's mostly tuned in for plowing and reliability.  An Edge EZ chip helps make a little more power and keep things efficient.  An Airdog II provides steady fuel pressure.  A full set of ISSPRO gauges monitor the turbo(boost/egt), fuel pressure, and oil temps.  The rest is all mechanical, suspension and axle upgrades to carry the 1000lb plow and fit the 33 inch tires.

Anyone towing with a 07 + tundra? Big or small v8? im going to be buying one here in the next week, but having trouble picking between the two v8s.

Go with the 5.7 iforce... They pull well.

Rocksnail

Thats what im leaning towards.  I think a double cab regular bed, 4x4 with the big v8. With my new job i just dont need the dodge anymore, The only thing ill be towing is my yota , and dirtbike trailer.  If anyone has any experience with a 07+ tundra please post up.
