Here's a mount idea for you.  This is what I do on customers rigs.  Its really strong and pretty simple do do.  It consists of 1.5 tubing .120 wall and 1/4" steel along with YJ leaf spring bushings.  Just cut a plate that bolts to your block along with some tabs for that plate.  Cut down the tube so its the width of your bushings then install those bushings and weld the tabs to width.  Slide your motor down and figure out how long the tube needs to be and cut to length.

Sorry I'm not trying to tell you what to do just an idea.  Its just a really easy way to get your motor in and put it where you want it instead of working with the stock stuff.  It'd allow you to lower you motor and place it easier without to many issues.
