Well in that you don't need the gearing to be as low, yeah. Duals or 4.7s aren't as important.

I remember reading something a while back about inchworm working to fix the problem with fluid draining into the back of the case, but I don't know what ever became of it.

so this is what i was thinking about doing to weld up the 3rds. I have seen other people do it this way but have never heard anything on how well it worked. What do you guys think?

That is how i did mine i used a piece of 3/8 i think and welded it hot with 6011 it has been great so far

not sure what your talking about! Did you heat it up with a torch first?

Yeah definitely burn that sucker in. I tried to do mine "clean" with low settings to reduce warpage.  It lasted about 1 burnout and 15 miles before it blew apart. :haha:

o ya haha i wasnt shootin for looks when i did mine... Its about as pretty as 6011 can get i love the stuff cuz its strong, but man it sure is ugly!!

this is what I ended up with. tapered the edges to get a better weld area. now i just need to make 3 more

i put plates in my thirds when i welded them too. havent had any problems with them. definetly the way to go if your welding them up  :thumbs:

well I screwed up on the third.  :rivers: i put the plates too far down, so now when i try to put the axle shafts in they hit the plates.   :maddest:



I think I might just break down and buy spools  :dunno:

yeah i thought about doing that. its only going to be about 1/16th - 1/8th inch. im going to see if I can use my buddies band saw.

u can take a die grinder and grind down the plate a little bit so the axle shafts go in or take a little off the axle shafts that way you wont have to get a new carrier and spools
