I already had it running once with this setup. If I put both t-casses in low (2.29 x 4.7) and the transmission in 1st gear I could stand on the brakes with all my weight and the engine only at an idle would just keep chugging.

He also realized that we forgot to stake the output shaft nut and split the cases to take care of it for me.

I agree I need to get this thing done. I've been focusing on the Tercel lately because I'm giving it to my nephew and I want to get it dialed before I hand it over to him. It's going to be his first car.

Injection pump is now installed.
The 4Runner will be here from Oregon on Thanksgiving.

buttoned up the timing gears this weekend. I think its time I send in my Snap-On click type torque wrench for service. it was giving me some pretty scary feelings when I was torquing the idler gear bolts, but when I pulled it off to check the threads on both the bolts and the holes in the block they looked pristine. I used my old Blackhawk beam style torque wrench to redo them.

I have zero thrust clearance on the fuel pump pulley so FSM says it has to come off along with the front cover.

What do you do?  Shim it?

All it says is take it apart and put it back together. I guess I just hope for the best.
