They have been found to be important for engine longevity for four cylinder engines over 2.5 liters. This is why Toyota used them on the 3RZ but not on the 2RZ.

I don't think even the mighty old blue would have made it the whole 220 miles. Just in case not everyone has figured it out, I didn't tow the runner with the mouse sled. It would have done it in.

I doubt it would, then there would have been no excuse not to re-power it, on the road side. ROADKILL!

This Saturday Zippo and I tore into the transmission to start rebuilding it.

Got it all tore down and everything looked pretty good aside from some very black oil with some water in it.
