This week I was in Las Vegas for work and I met up with "LJ-70". Him and his wife picked me up from work in the 70 series Land cruiser and treated me to a trip into the mountains to go cruise around the trails above Las Vegas. He just finished the motor swap from a 2L-t to a 2L-tII. He even let me drive for awhile.

Finished installing all the bottom end bearings. Now if I can find my oil squiter nozzles I'll be able to drop the crank in.

Yeah but I'm starting to wish I had made a photo template for the bolts that went on the interior of the engine. Called my parts guy at Toyota who said the last 3 in the US are in California. Wouldn't you know, I need 4? He's gonna see what he can do If not, I have a source in Japan and Steve in the U.K. And shipping for 1 bolt isn't too bad. And only takes about a week. 1st world problems.

Then put the rotational assembly together and torqued

Had to do a repair on my boat mast today. So... Time to learn to Tig weld aluminum.

Or in Steves case Al-you-mini-um 

-Lincoln Tig 200, 0.09375" (3/32") trimix tungsten, 0.0625" (1/16") filler, 65amps, 75% AC ballance, 150 hertz, base metal is 0.125" (1/8") Alu

Installed the rear main seal, both balance shafts with new thrust bearings and both motor mounts.

Drop that balance shaft on your toe with them flip flops on. That would be interesting.

Balance shafts counteract the vibrations of engine operation
