Well my machinist called me today and said he has sleeved cylinder #3 and will bore the cylinders to 0.5mm and that will get the cylinders consistently smooth and cylindrical. So once the pistons are in hand he will do a final hone to perfect the oil clearance. Forward movement!  :hammer:

Finally finished my valve shim compression tool!

I think it "turned" out pretty good, considering.

So $3500 for new rings and Pistons!
I think I'll have a complete engine for about 1/3 of the cost instead.

That is outrageous. A complete set of 6 pistons and rings any size you want for a 12v cummins is only $300. I don't see how a toyota piston could be of any greater quality to make them worth their weight in gold.
What's the plan now?

I thought a "Coke" in the south wasn't necessarily referring to the actual brand and was more of a general term?

Where did you get the factory looling triple stick shifter leather boot? Looks super clean. Im in the process of doing the same thing and want it to look like factory.

Thanks! I made a pattern for the boot then asked my Mom to sew one for me. I need to get a sewing machine of my own. Sqwadoosh has one that my Mom made too.

Isn't there some aftermarket supplier for these pistons?  The Israeli stuff seems pretty good.  I'm sure they had these engines down there.

Heck even scouring through books for something that would work inn a pinch.  If you haven't bored the block yet it seems like if we  could find something with the same wrist pin size and location and very close diameter you could use it.  What did the Isuzu diesel pistons look like?

Ae these pistons aluminum or something else?

I think the new plan is to order some standard size Pistons for $250 from Milner Off-road (unfortunately they don't offer oversize Pistons) then have my machinist re-sleeve and bore all four cylinders to standard. Then I should be on my way.

Nice to have standard sized bore anyway.
