I have a Kenwood TK-7150 sitting around, is this a commercial use radio only or can I use it like a normal HAM radio?

I am a complete noob when it comes to HAM, but I am trying to learn..

Im local to Charleston, SC.  If im around V/Uhf it camping on 146.52.  I also run V/Uhf in the mobile. Soon to have HF in the Mobile. Mobile is a TS-480 and a FTM-350AR. Base is a Elecraft k3, and a Ftm-350r.
I also monitor the local repeaters, i care to do all my QSOs on HF and on 146.52. Staying away from the local repeater Drama.

What is your call sign though?

But think of all the underage hams, sub 18yrs old. They are minors, and their info is public.   I just think the FCC should keep some of our info away from prying eyes.

FYI: after chasing down an RF noise for a couple weeks I finally found that my Trucklite LED headlights were creating the noise. I will have to shield the back sides of them.

I am using a G5RV iand made a control box that lets me get on 160 m havent tested it yet but I think it will work

yea alot of the local Ham are just realizing the advantages of Ladder Line.  As you have a decent Antenna Transmatch, you should be golden

I picked the Yaesu FT-350AR because it has dual receivers, cross band repeat, and is capable of APRS with the GPS antenna.  Cross band repeat is a great function. I use it for boosting the range of my handheld when I am hanging out at my property in the mountains, and I also let it run when the truck is on the trailer, and just use my handheld in the tow rig.  Again this is just boosting the range (handheld is only 5 watts, FTM-350AR is 50 Watts).

APRS was VERY easy to setup, I was actually quite surprised.  I read though the instructions of the radio, set the "beaconing" the way I like, and that was that.  I don't actually use it very often, but it is great for 4 wheeling.  If my wife is not riding shotgun, she can just log into the APRS website and enter my call sign to see where I have been/am.  The track is not always the best because it plays connect the dots and for some reason it doesn't use the time stamp to figure out which dot is next...

If you have some other friends with APRS in the area it is also very useful.  For example, if my buddy beacons, my radio picks up his call sign and plays a jingle telling me he is in radio range.  I don't even have to pay attention the beacons coming in, I just have to listen.  That way I don't have to call him on one of the calling freqs.

I am now APRS capable!  I will be hiding this baby in the dash and sleeping much better knowing that I can check the location of my truck whenever I want. Took me all of two minutes to be sending a signal that showed up on googles APRS map.
