Hahaha yeah that sounds like a good idea

jrock

Side note..., Paradise has some good buys if your close enough. Buddy of mine picked up a Taco with full widths and 38x15.5"x15" SSR. Needs a bunch of stuff though. I got my spare Xcab cab :) 1AM in Red Bluff and headed home. ETA = 5AM :(

fordh8r

Why did you get a spare cab? Didn't you just buy a complete truck?

jrock

It came with the complete truck so it was free for me. I just needed to pick it up
Got home just before 6am. Dang.

superyota

Dang! You do more driving than I do! Lol. Trucks looking good. Icant wait to drive it!  :gap:

Ha, your always on the road! I do the hard hauls.

This truck is being a pain. Windshields are expensive. I cut the 3" Magnaflow glass pack off. I plan to run a Turbo 2.5"

So what ive been doing these last few nights is rewiring the t100 harness to work with a 85 steering column. They're a lot alike except on how they control turn signals and the number of pins they have. T100 has more pins but uses less wires when switched over to the 85 column.

And I have been trying to build a complete tilt wheel steering column from two other columns. I hit a wall without a steering wheel puller :(

Ive never used a steering wheel puller. take the nut off and wiggle.

I also will tap the end of the loosened nut with a hammer a few times. not enough to damage anything, just enough to get things loose.

I need to finish the exhaust but the 2.5" Turbo muffler is SO much better, quieter and throatier.

Changed the rear shock hoop and made the rear shocks as vertical as I can for now. 5.5" uptravel and 4.5" down, i may change this around. It depends on how much down travel I can actually use. I also pulled a leaf out of the rear packs, it was sitting about an inch high. Now it's almost good. With gear itll be good.

jrock

Little bit of interference :( The bumps still have 1.5" left and the shock has almost 1". The dragline hits the spring with a 3/4 drop pitman and the TRE nut hits the frame bad with a flat pitman arm :( I don't want to lower the bumps any more because it'll ruin the ride, it'll practically be sitting on the bumps.

But the rear turned out well with 5.5" down and 4.5" up. I'm still needing to add a 2" spacer to the bump stops.

Dingman.

Really?  I never find anything and i live here. Haha

jrock

Haha, strangely enough, that's what the people I bought from said too but my experience says otherwise :) I guess it's all timing and what your looking for

Dingman.

I suppose. Im liking your new truck by the way

mudaddict

what about notching the frame for the tre so you can run the flat pitman arm? i know we have done it on a truck or 2 here

It wouldn't be only for the TRE nut, I would need to notch for the pitman arm too :( I'm thinking this is the way to go. Unless I can put the TRE on top of this arm.

Slolyfe

Looks like your spring is inverting too.

They are. The fronts are flat when the bumps hit. They invert about 1.5" to aid in uptravel, the rears go about 1". They've been like this for about 2yrs. Maybe this is why my AP 3" fronts are now more like a 2"... max. The rear MC 4" have a main leaf pulled to soften them and bring them down to about a 3".
