A few pics with the battery back in stock location, intake shortened, ARB compresssor moved to old battery location. This should help distribute the weight better to keep the truck from sagging on the front left corner :crossed:

weird so only 2 bolts hold it up on each side?
I'm going to be re-doing the spacers in there and adding another bolt to each side. There are three bolt holes for mounting on each side.

Yep. Lots of liitle details like that to work on. One problem I have in that area is because of the exhaust routing, I cant have a bolt sticking too far up because it will hit the exhaust pipe(just that one bolt), and then pipe rubs against it against when driving . Some type of round head carriage bolt is what I was thinking of using. Thanks for looking :turtle:

Looks good! I try to get my 12 year old son to help out and he doesn't seem interested yet... hopefully that changes!!

Does the collector flange on your header come close to hitting your shackle bolt? Mine taps on start up.. really annoying.. I wish LC would have turned the flange some instead of making it horizontal.

are you using that big ole honkin' LC header like the one in my pics?? I decided to use the mini-header because the LC one was just too big. Definitely too close to the shackle. Yeah, it takes a while for some kids to get the bug and get motivated. Takes time. The more they go out and wheel with ya, the more interest they will develop :spankbutt:

Yeah, I am running the full size header.. it came with the swap and I didn't have a factory down pipe. I have an idea how to clearance the flange, I was just curious if this only happened on mine.

HogCanyonHopper

Working on the rear bump stops. There is 9" from the top of the flip plate to the bottom of the bump stop. I want to weld something to the top of the flip plate and need to figure out how tall to make it, just not sure what the best way to compress my springs is to figure that :headscratch:

First time I did bump stops was to drive it into a ditch diagonally to flex it out and then start measuring...

HogCanyonHopper

I'd like to be able to compress these springs right here where it sets in the driveway, but they are so STIFF  :ack:  :help:

Mine were brand new at the time as well... Marlin 5".... Just give it some real life action :)

Peterbuilt84

If you have a high lift or cherry picker you can hook up some chain from that to your wheels and try to flex it that way.

HogCanyonHopper

So heres a couple shots of my attempt to flex these springs. With the springs nearing flat, the distance between the top of the flip plate and the bump stop is  7 3/8". I'm thinking that I have another 1.5-2" before they start to hit negative arch. Still not sure exactly how tall to make whatever I end up welding to my flip plates. Any suggestions? I'm thinking the bump stops are going to give at least an inch or more.

This is how I did mine on my old runner... this is a front pic but I did the rears the same way...

HogCanyonHopper

:yikes: DAMN thats a long extension. But you got the small bump stop on there. Yeah, I have to get some front bump stops and will probably go with the small ones. I don't want to go w/o bumpstops like some guys do. I think theres more reasons to run em than not :_oops: :screwy: Thanks for the pic

My runner doesn't have them right now but I will be adding them because I don't want my tires to rub into the body.
