Swapped out my back up lights,

Added one set to the budbuilt cross member, might  move them to the slider..dunno

Cell phone pics don't do them justice, output is better in person

Need to trim the bolt for the cross member mounted set..

I ordered some LED's for my dash a few months ago on eBay from BFE.. they finally got in last week...so I  tear apart the dash Monday thinking I will now have  a lighted gauge cluster..only 1 or 2 lights were showing up.
Low and behold they either sent the wrong ones or I screwed up.  A buddy of mine that parts out trucks came through with a bunch of bulbs and bulb holders for me..I was missing 6 out of  13...accounts for the lackluster light I had in my dash...
Anyway it is nice to be able to see my tack and speedo at night now...though pretty anemic:mad:

got my LED's installed, i have one spot on the left side of the tach that is kind of ticking me off, i cleaned the contact, tried 3 different LED's and bulb holders...it is still bad, but better than it was..maybe I will try a different cluster or something...I would love to swap in a third gen cluster sometime..

X2.  The green looks great! And don't worry, we won't hold that tach issue against you ;) haha I think it looks sweet and you're doing a great job! Keep it up, Holmes!

Your trekker is bad ass! I have always wanted one ever since I got my pickup. Does your tach work? Mine never did from the day I got it.

Mdumaw

Dude your trekker is soooo sweet, you make me want one so bad!

dropzone

Thanks everyone.  Multiquote doesn't want to play today for some reason.
I like simple mods that make driving this thing better.

And yes the tachometer works...no charge light in 6 years though but the amp meter works fine..

Got a deal on a spare part too good to pass up

Came with the title and minor p/s damage..
If I ever need it might go dove nose

Threw a couple of LED's into the Voltmeter and Oil pressure gauge cluster.
the bulb is a 1445, I just searched 1445 LED bulb on ebay.  got a couple of them for $5 delivered.

old anemic output again...I don't think the voltmeter lamp was working..

Thanks, it is fun.

Sucked it up and bought some LED headlights
Ran into a snag I should have known about, 82-83 head light buckets don't line up on 79-81 so had to head to hardware  store for nuts and bolts..
Took the time to clean and paint the buckets

Close up of the light

Lights aren't mounted but want to see what it might look like,
Low beam

High beam

Can't wait to get them mounted.

Looking great hope those weren't too expensive
around $200 each..

(did this a week or too ago) Haven't had a lot of time to do much but had a couple of hours today to finish converting my headlights to LED`s.  It would have been a 30 minute job if I had stuck with round headlights but oh well.

I went ahead and moved my turn signals down below the head lights, a little obscured but they are plenty bright.

I will try to get some night shots later on.
Gotta love a local dealer that can get some parts for old trucks..new parking light lens are great

Lame cell phone night shots..the pics don't do the output justice.
Low beams

High beams

I picked up a couple of sets of wanna be Rigid style LED lights cheap, I wanted a set of the Dually Fog lights but couldn't justify the expense.
Found a set of Rigid light covers cheap so thought I would take a chance
Drilled a recess in the side for the clip

Fits nice and tight,

dual purpose LED flood and Fog lights for about 1/2 the price of the Rigid lights

knocked out a couple of little projects today.
I have always wanted a set of Four Treks High lift mounts but the price always put me off.
I was looking ebay for a roll bar camera mount and found these things, 4 for $40 delivered-ballast clamps for racing

used the other set to make a mount for my fire extinguisher:

a friend of mine hooked me up with something I had been looking for over 6 years'

$20!! Gives my kids something to hold on to I won't after worry about them getting wet when the rear top is off..
BRAT rear seats have been a PITA to find reasonably priced.  They have been trashed out and $100 or nice for $250 when I have been able to find them....

My 10 week or so clutch job finally done.  Nice to have the Trekker back on the road.
Decided to bust out the tire grooved.  Nothing too fancy, busted a couple blades till I got it figured out.

Before

After

This is kind of an experiment, should be the last season with these Toyos, they are getting old.

picked up a new toy, a Drift HD 720 camera:
http://driftinnovation.com/camera/drift-hd720/
thing I really like about it besides getting it really cheap
-the lense is rotateable
-remote control-- can be mounted on a bumper and you can record the trail sections you want
-supports a 32gb micro sd card
-can charge it while still mounted using a USB cord in my truck
-and a few other cool features..timed stills (1 every 1-5s)

I will probably get a short piece of 90* aluminum to make a bracket to have the camera mounted upright.

I honestly do not see anything wrong with your old lights. Maybe the people were to busy admiring your truck and forgot to slow down?
