Thanks. .get a good test light, maybe a digital multi-meter. Make sure you have good grounds, soldering makes better connections. .use heat shrink instead of tape..

So i got lucky last thursday night, early friday morning..some low life scumsucking bottom feeder tried to steal the truck.
totally trashed the ignition but i still have the truck..

A ton of folks have offered replacement parts, pretty freaking awesome.  i have a set of door locks and ignition on their way for next to nothing..

The generosity amazes me on these offroad forums.  Another reason to be here besides education and BS.

Thanks! Thanks to 4x4Yota I am a matched set of door locks and ignition.
:beerchug:

Did a little wiring today to narrow down what lights i am going to keep.   I accumulated way too many..
90w 15" center bar with 2 24w floods on either side with removable amber filter

I need to tweak the right side of the light bar mount to even it up and
Add an angled spacer to straighten the  floods.  I used to have a set of rounds lights there and had just welded the  light mount even with the angle of the bumper..

Been running the half doors for a week or so.
Makes the bank easier

Operation:  Can of Worms Part 2

Started a project today to fix what I think was a design snafu when Winnebago designed the bed on Trekkers.
They made the bed with about a 4.5" lip that is above the bed floor.  This is a pain, especially on a lifted truck.
Stared at it today, measured a bunch and said screw it and started to take the plunge. Cut 4" out  that will allow me to have a 1/2" lip for the tail gate seal.  It will be easier getting stuff in and out of the back now..  I also have an extra rear hatch I will use to extend the current hatch 4"

Going topless the next few months:reg:

So here is what kinda of prompted lowering the lip on the bed

Got a jeep drawer through some parts trades.  Keeps all my junk secure and no bungee cords holding it down.

Will try to get a tire carrier built like Marshall built for Trixxie the Trekker

Picked up a couple of little 5 liter NATO gas cans. Figure I would use them for fuel for my trail chain saw.
Cleaned up pretty good after a few minutes with a wire wheel

Borrowed this idea from OCD's Red Truck thread
Seems like I break a mirror ever time I hit the trail.
Cut down a set of **cough** h33p quick release mirrors.

Twist the knob and swing them out of the way

With the end of summer fast approaching i figured it was time to start extending my existing hatch using a donor hatch from a rolled SKy's Off Road Trekker

A little piece of Trekker History- Winnebago dated the fiberglass body pieces, my hatch was produced in june of 1981.  The donor hatch was made in July of 1981.

It looks like either a different adhesive was used on the two hatches or a different guy made them- one has a ton of glue, the other not so much

got a little fiberglass done this afternoon.  hope to block sand it tonight and get a full piece on the hatch tonight

West Systems? Is that a fiberglass product?  If so I am using a bunch of stuff I had left over from when I bobbed this thing 2 or 3 years ago..

Looking good man.

thanks :beerchug:

so doing the usual end of summer stuff like putting the full doors back on and getting the top ready to go on.
I was staring at my rear bumper, thinking I had bent it on a trail run banging it on something or tweeked it getting pulled out or something.  Was going to pull it but than looking at the mounts found something else.
it looks bent down on the p/s or bent up on the d/s

passenger side rear mount is straight:

Driver side is bent down

will probably have to unbolt the cage so I can somehow bend this thing back up and throw some new pucks or something in there with some rubber cushions.  33 years have taken a toll.

after looking over the truck further I didn't notice any further fubar body mounts, even around two cab mounts that had the floor repaired.  I think I may have got lucky.  Looking at how I mounted my rear lights on a panel I can pull the light mount panel and get my 6' pry bar in there and bent it up and place a piece of angle in there to support it.
