Today was a good day.

Cruzer Dave put my two transfercases along with my 4:70 gears. At the same time, he put another transfercase together for Bruce, all at the same time.. Wow, he rocks.

Bruce picked up some lobsters, shrimp and some other fish stuff. I pitched in for beer and a tri tip. It was a good dinner.

After dinner, Dave finished putting the transfer casses together  :beerchug:

Wow, weve had some weird weather lately, making it diffiecult to get anything done.

I guess I didnt make my deadline of starting my engine by the end of March, but I did get lots of other things I wasnt planning on finishing done.

Where am I right now? Im in the process of wiring the chevy engine to the toyota truck. I put the Howel harness in, but found it didnt have all the plugs, and things to get it all complete, I guess I thought it was complete, but thats ok, I did have the original harness which I pulled appart, and am going to blend them all together along with the toyota harness. I should get this all complete by the next couple of weeks, I hope.

I still have to modify the fuel pump and tank to work in this thing, along with bending all my own fuel lines and filter and stuff.

Also, need to finish the stearing pump hoses, and other little things.

A big thing im also working on is the transfercase crossmember. I purchased a dual transfercase crossmember skid plate from Marlins, but found that with the custom engine mounts, and the slightly longer 700r4 under there, the mount holes do not align themselves with the stock mounts. My brother is making me some plates that match the crossmember ends that I will weld to the frame, and have lock nuts welded to them. This should allow me to wrap the mounts up.

Also, my wife took a drive to Fresno today to pick up a present for me, check it out. I think my little girl approves also.

Also, needed to show some pics of the wiring job im working on, and the Locar, Twin Stick, and other shifter.

I will be cutting out more of the hump to get more room because the transfercase in the rear hits the cab. I dont want to add a body lift, so I will make my own hump later. Here is what it looks like now.

Just found out today that Andy at Marlins is working on my bumpers and rock sliders. I need to bob my bed this weekend in order for him to measure up the rear bumper. Hope all goes good this weekend.

I can tell you first hand it is starting to look like a clean rig, especailly since he got the tires on.  Hopefully I will be able to give him a hand this weekend when he bobs the bed, I have never bobbed a bed so it will be a learning experaince for me.

TrackVino

Learning experience for you? It will be a learning experience for me. Im going to try to also bob the camper in the rear, not the front as I have seen lots of people do. Hope all goes well with that.

Thanks for all the responses guys, It really makes keeping you guys posted on whats going on worth my time.

The blind leading the blind....sounds like a good plan to me :hammerhead:  :hammerhead:  :hammerhead:

TrackVino

Ok, im back.

You know, the closer I get to getting this thing done, the more I find myself spending more time on it. I really need to finish this.

What did I do today............ whell, I started bobbing the bed.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was somewhat nervous just cutting and drilling on this thing, but once I started, I knew I couldnt turn back.

Heres what I did:

First, I took some mesurments, used a sanding pad on my angle grinder and cleaned off the paint where I will be cutting, then marked this thing from the top. Using a 90 degree square, I was able to aligne the top, then I took a chalk line and made as streight a line as I could to the bottom.

I then took my drill, and drilled some holes. The holes are for when I weld the back section back on, I could use some backing plate, and weld it back on thru the holes. I will show you later when I actutually do it.

After all was marked and ready to cut, I took some cutting wheels on my angle grinder, and started cutting down the line.

This was somewhat crazy, but went really smooth.

Here are some pictures of what I did. I will be welding it up tomorrow, or at least start.
