I don't know, i am really thinking about dovetailing my bed.  I have to pay back some dept which i am doing slowly and i have to save up for the trip to the hammers in april.  I really won't have any money to play around with inbetween.  but i did install a new toolbox in my truck and mounted my spare tire.  I will get pics up when i download to my computer.

here they are.  I actually made the tire mount last year in metals class but never got around to mounting it in the bed.  I got the yellow and black box from Toy on 40's a couple weeks ago.  Hopefully i won't need to tie anything down anymore.

I need to find an ice chest that will fit under the spare tire.  It has to be 13 1/2" or less.

Ramrod

that toolbox is tite, the guy that I work for has one of those that covers the entire floor of his bed and is about 10" thick with two drawers.  Ps your truck looks like :pokinit: in those new pics of the whole thing. I hope your driving it around roseville like that

Hyena

I did a couple weeks ago.  I think it is about time to do it again.  I gotta drive it every once in awhile to keep it all working good.

Where do you buy one of those tool boxes? i would like to have one of those

Actually i have no idea.  I can "try" and find out.  I really don't know who bought it, it is kinda like the town sleeper.  It has been passed along from truck to truck over the past year or so.

Either find two rocks that you can back up between to narrow the bed or just get out the BFH and go to town.  I don't think anyone will notice.  You could modify the rear bumper to the size you want, go wheeling and put it back on when it fits.

You need to get some protection for your doors!

I don't want to dent the bed anymore then it already is.  It is still in pristene condition.  I have all the things to cut it and weld it back together so i just need to time to do it.  kinda sucks when i have no days off.  :(

Thats sweet Jared.  I am waiting on my tax return also.  It won't be going into the toy but it will be paying back for some parts that went into the toy.  :)

I am going over to Toy on 40's house this weekend though to help him on his toy.  We might have some time to work on mine a little  :)

Hyena

And the doors are only on there for weather protection, i won't be wheelin with them on.  I gotta straighten out my drivers half door and throw it back on before i go.

gotrocks

I can't believe how much you've trashed the body on your rig.  it used to look so nice.  hey on of my rigs is pretty beat up but not quite like yours.  Hey gives it charicter I guess

Brad dont buy one i got a welder and between our fabricating skills we might be able to pull it off. it would be cheaper to build one. i'll buy the metal through work.

We know nothing about building a trailer.

Ramrod

I know someone that tried to build a trailor for his senior project and took his time(like 8 months) to make it exactly like he wanted it and when he finally had it all done he went to drive his rig on it and he didn't have the trailer axles in the right spot and the front of the trailor flew up and smashed the back of his dads brandnew f250.  It was pretty funny

of course.

So today me and Chris fixed my rear bumper tail light protector thingy.  It got hit badly and broke the welds so we bent it back into place and burned it back together.  then we started with installing his old cage into my truck.  We fit the 2 pieces in my truck but we didn't have any tubing to fill the gap since his truck was a regular cab and mine is an extra cab.  The back bar is just resting in there right now, hopefully we cab get the front in there and weld them together then we can bolt it in.  It is a tight fit but it should work.  We also have to decide on what to do with the center bar since it will hit my moonroof handle and we can really move or take out that!

Ramrod

move that bar over a little to your side, I couldn't see how it would hurt

Hyena

I think we might cut the middle bar off and redo it.  I don't care if it blocks the andle because i can still take the moonroof out.  Just if we put it in like this the bar wil lgo right through the handle sp it won't work.  Moving it to one side would work.  but then it will mean a greater chance for someone hitting there head on it.

Your driver door looks like it doesn't belong, its to clean. That inside cage looks pretty sweet though  :beerchug:

well that sucks ya i just got a tube bender and i got welder and all the other stuff that is needed so im going to do it before i do anything hardcore

Hyena

I spent about $80 on the trail gear web site yesterday.  Bought a tent since my last one got ripped up by a dog.  Bought a head flashlight with a strap so i can wear it on my head or hat.  and also bought 2 new rock lights to replace my 2 fronts that stopped working.  Wierd how my rear 2 riebes rock lights still work great but the fronts died.  anyway, just trying to get ready for the hammers in april.  i still need to get an ice chest that will sit under my spare tire.  It has to be like 13 1/2 inches tall or shorter to fit under it.  Wonder if i can find one or not. :crossed:

Ramrod

yep I think was tent time for you after seeing your old one in the snow in october it wasn't looking to hot

Hyena

why?  Because the rain fly flew off and it callapsed on me?  lmao.  Lets see.  In about 8 months i have gone through ; 1 sleeping bag, 2 tents, 3 folding chairs, 2 flashlights, one axle, one birfield, 1 detriot, 2 rock lights, a sunroof, 1 brake light, and 2 driving lights.  I having a good year so far.  I wonder how long this tent and ice chest are going to last.  O ya, i went and bought a coleman ice chest at sports authority today.  14 1/2 inches tall.  about 1 inch taller then i wanted but it was thr shortest i could find.

Ramrod

that list is about in the same region as mine minus the axles for me but add on a whole truck
