IronClad: If I wanted to hold hands and be nice I'd become a hippie.
Mounting point, right front:
Been checking on parts for a dual set-up; here's the list so far:2 cases, forward to top shift conversions if needed4.7s with 23 splines all aroundMC 07 (why is the MC 08 $300 more?)crossmemberdriveshaft workbusted knuckles and lost bolts. Can I run 4.7s in both cases or is that just too low or a waste of gears and time? I figured out I'll have to chop the floor for this, modification is my middle name. I'm sure a ton of my questions will be answered once I actually get parts; I'm a physical kind of thinker, I need to have the stuff in front of me to figure it out. Since there's a bunch of late-model Toys at the yard, can two forward-shift cases be used as duals? I'm guessing yes but with a top-shift conversion deal.
I may have to rename this thread; working on a deal to get a built 84 regular cab truck this week... hopefully. It's got 4.11s and Detroits front and rear but I have that axle with the Lok-Rite and 5.29s. Are Detroits better than Lok-Rites? Are the gears low enough to turn 37s easily? The truck also has a 4.7 Marlin kit; single t-case.>>Dan
that truck is crying for crossover steering
