81 (rusty)

86 (dusty)

got the 86 IFS rear axle in and 1" wheel spacers up front stance looks good and the extra width improves handling on curvy roads... but I'm a little leery about the wheel spacers hope they keep tight... also looking for a ubolt flip kit for the rear seems my stock ubolt plate wont work since the 86 axle is a bigger diameter than the stock 81... so time to put in order but want to find a way to keep my shocks bolted in the stock location or even above the axle but still stock location

why are you worried about wheel spacers?  If you used lock tight then you will be fine.  I garuntee almost everyone on this forum is running wheel spacers and hasnt had a problem.  Ive been using them for six years with no problems.

finally fixed my brakes just had to adjust the "automatic" adjuster more myself and now the truck is back on the road... back to looking more into high steer w/NO lift but still a later on the list now I am debating on adding a drop Front hanger and a 4.5-5" shackle on the front to gain a lil more up travel and still keep the pinion angle proper and level the truck and not lift it but thats all on hold till I can locate a welder to do it with I dont think my 90 amp mig could do it properly and maybe a hand to get it finished (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge)

been worknig on the idea of bobing my bed. but not to sure how hard it is do. I dont need all the space in my bed so I want to shorten it about 12" or even make it as lon as it is wide... I want to keep all my bed hooks on the sides and keep all the body lines and the rear marker light...
I also want to build a bed rack that goes up cab height andhas a rack up top to carry extra but is removeable and cover it with canvas to make a soft top with roll up sides

here is a pick how I want to do it (had fun in photoshop)

photoshop does a good job!! I would do the bob for sure, it helps some wat for straigjht up climbs like waterfalls and stuff. Other than that it just looks cool! Now if ya dove it and bob it that's where its at. get's more side sheet metal out of the way of hard things that tend to hit the box, cause my bobbed box is pretty much a bobbed pretzle now!! But go for it man!!

you can use hockey pucks, but i think those are closer to an inch thick.  if you only want a half inch, just use some big washers!

4x4yota

the only big washers I can find are 2" dia. w/a .75" hole  or 2.5" washers w/1" hole

I might just try cutting some different pucks or making some out of .25" steal

Go get a 1/2 polyurithane cutting board from wallmart for 3 bucks? Cut out the pucks. The stuff cuts super easy and will work.
If you see it, its for sale.

If that doesnt work look into buying some round stock UHMW plastic stuff. I made my 2" bodylift with it. Just took it and used a chopsaw and cut it into the length (height) I wanted and drilled a hole in the center
