5.29s would be nice I can turn 33s/35s no prob with my 4.56 its just my 37s are so much heavier and I dd my truck with 32s and wheel with the 37s so the dual tcases would do that but as far as street the lil extra tourque from the 4.88 would be nice

will 5.29s kill me with 32s or will the increased toruque be worth the high RPMs on the high way Im already burning 3500 in 4th with 32s doing 65MPH

how do factory V6 4.88 compare to a regeared V6 3rd is the factory any weaker or just as good

No way bud..... That's a lot of money to "try" and install the gears yourself. Be patient and save the $$$$ to have it done right. I have ZUK take care of my gear installs http://www.gearinstalls.com/ . It's worth the wait. Cuz when your gears are prematurely whinning and or making all kinds of weird noises, you'll wish you had waited.

i agree! plus, not only do you have to have some pretty good experience to do it, you also have to buy a few specialty tools that can be very spendy

gears are a pain in the azz.   but take time and go slow pay attention to what you are doing.  double and triple check the backlash /preload and every thing.   and break in proceedere is critical to  :twocents:
i've done 529s there really no harder than the others.   you have the force with.

ok so I emailed zuk and he wants $250 each 3rd to install the gears + parts so I think Ill just save and get the already built 3rds from sky manufacturing or just lock my rear current 3rd and buy duals and just put up with 4.56 for now after all the 37s are just trail tires and my truck has amazing power with 4.56 and 32s

i never noticed a difference on the highway with mine although iv never driven it in snow. U turns suck bad and keep the tires rotated often. otherwise it kicks ass offroad.

yeah a spool is gonna wear out your tires even faster than a locker. keeping them rotated often is good advice

I only drive 5-10 miles a day round trip and maybe 1-2 times a year a 120 mile round trip and then to and from trails so not to worried about tire wear... but off road I would love to have the added traction til I go more places with out worry... and the way I look at it is that if Im going to lock my axle Im going to "LOCK IT"

ok so now Im having charging issues, it doesnt want to charge at idle 600-800rpms but charge light goes off at 1000rpms and charges at 900+rpms... the alt/reg & batt were replaced within the last year and I cleaned and replaced connections today and still having problems so I replaced the reg and nothing so could it be the alt? friend told me I prolly got the brushed dirty and doesnt make a good connection all the time... is that possible or what else could it be?

Sounds like the alt.

I don't think so, but can't fully remember if the older seperated alt/reg charge systems if the alt had a rear cover. If it does you can pull the rear cover to check, clean, and/or replace the brushes. If not you'd have to take the alt apart to do it. If that's the case then remove the alt and take to an auto part store and have them check it.

I know TG has a longer spline available for like $180. Or you could check with a local Driveline shop to see what theyd charge for a longspline setup. :dunno:

Why not go square? Mines good to about 45 and its the first Iv ever made and it was all eyeballed as close as i could guess at 11PM the night before wheeling. :dunno:
