I bet you could do the motor lift without doin a body lift.  there is quite a bit of room between the hood and engine on the older trucks like yours.  I can get pics posted tomorrow

4x4yota

its been a while since I have updated

the truck has been in the current state for the longest I have ever had it and I am very pleased but now I am building it with what it needs not what I want to do and what everybody else is doing

truck is all stock minus
33x10.50 BFG ATs
4.56 V6 LSD 3rds
dual 2.28 cases
and '85 interior pieces

took the truck up eagle rock last weekend in CO springs truck did great kept up with all the built rigs no problem but I wish I had full lockers rather than LSD

so after runnig some minor trails climbing hills and doing hard trails I now know what more the truck needs

dual cases are like night and day they were totally worth it the 33s helped clear the diffs and the LSD helped on climbs and dirt but didnt hold when twisted in rocks so ether aussies or spools are next and then Im going to try and figure out how to increase travel with stock suspension w/ no lift and also install high steer

4x4yota

got a few parts

got an IFS rear axle (w/working ebrake)
W56 to replace my worn L45
and a complete EFI setup
now what to start with

I want to swap in the W56 but keep the duals
the IFS rear is a piece of cake (swap 3rds, install, bleed brakes, hook up e brake done)
EFI is a bit harder but can still be done

anybody up for helping with any of this?

decided against the W56 swap 357k miles wasnt worth the hastle of risking if it is still good or not Ill stick with my worn L45 til I can get a L52

but did get the IFS rear end in and its nice to have an ebrake but bleeding brakes is a pain in the @$$ now all thats left is the EFI and seat swap (SR5 bucket seats)

never seen anyone do it that way, usually they just use the entire head.  idk which cam is better i guess.  If it was me, I would use the efi cam with the efi setup
