I am running the Downey header and a Flowmaster 40 series. I like it, though it is pretty loud. I have seen a few trucks with the Downey header and the Magnaflow muffler and to be honest I liked how it sounded better.

Most O2 sensors are voltage generating devices (0-1 v)

Don't see how this would work

x2 O2 sensors are in sense a Battery.

I run a Flowmaster 40, with my chevy motor.

ill let you know thursday. any ideas for my o2 censor? can i cut and splice the wires and re rout it of can i just rip that Shi* out? lol im not going for emmisons

Removing the O2 will cause the ecu to engine to run rich in a fail safe mode, and shortening/lengthening the wires will likely cause the the ecu to get a false reading, since the strength of the current generated by the O2 sensor will be different than what the ecu is programed to receive.  If it runs rich not really an issue, but if it causes the engine to run lean it is.  I would just cut the bung off the oem piping and weld it onto the new system in/near its original location.

It's not for a toyota, but it does show that eliminating the sensor can be done.  I think I paid $20 or less for one for the bike and the only change I noticed was I didn't have an 02 sensor!

Halladay

Is your header a 4 in to 1? Cause they are louder then Tri-Ys and Manifolds.

ya my header is 4 to one headman. and i just finished my exhaust. its a 45 at the header and runs above all the X-members and is the purple hornie made by flow-tech at the end. it dumps at the back of my cab with no cat. i just cut off the bung for the o2 of the oem and welded it to my 2.25 pipe. works great and sounds better! not to loud at idel but when you get them rpm's rollin it sounds good and loud. im scared to take the doors of and run my tube doors lol

I'm running a Magnaflow, no cat and 2 1/4 inch pipe all the way to the rear. Sounds good, not too loud at any speed range.

Older big chamber stock manifold into a empty cat, and then to a cheapo Super Turbo muff.  It has a little tinny sound once in a while, but I like mine quiet.

I have a Downey catback on my truck and I like it alot. If I were to do it all over again, I would put a Magnaflow on instead. I have a Magnaflow cat back system on my CTS-V, and it sounds mean. I also had a Magnaflow system on my SRT-4 and I loved it.

Header Back 2 1/4" to a Flowtech Purple Horny

2 1/2" out muffler to a 90* then a 45* up through the bed

Homemade rain cap. I plan to wrap it with header wrap. stuff is spendy though.

I dont know what it sounds like yet  :gap:
